Welcome to the forum, man. I spent about 8 days in Hawaii and mostly at K-bay visiting my best friend when he was stationed there. I loved the place but of course I was not stationed there for three years either. My buddy got a little stir crazy not being able to get off (drive) the island. No hook-n-jab stories from this side either. I have learned that there is only one thing that the military considers more important than deploying to Iraq these days and it's recruiting.

As long as I am recruiter (at least one more year), there is absolutely no chance of getting deployed.

I am in no sense of the word a "war monger" and I do not have any delusions of grandeur but I would like to a chance to get deployed and do my part. The delusion comment was inserted because my PMOS is an Administrative Chief so it's not like I think that I will be going to Iraq to kick in doors and kill the bad guys. However, I would like to be able to keep another Gunny from being redeployed and having to leave his family when he has already been two or three times.

Anyway, enough bitchin from me. Just want to wish you the best of luck and if there is ever anything that I can do for you then just let me know.
