Hey bastages, over the past month my truck has sounded more and more
offensive.. and not in a good way.. think exhaust leak.. anyways, i took some
pictures of what the hell is going on and was trying to think over how i'm going
to make it less annoying... in the pictures you can clearly see that it is
exhaust leak.. but the pipes don't go in much further.. i haven't messed with
them since i installed them.. but hell.. should i have to? i guess what i'm asking
is how should i go about getting those pipes closer togther. do i loosen the
pipes by the headers then adjust from there or do i take the magnaflow
off and reinstall? :dontknow:

bro.i would try to get as much pipe in as possiable, then you are going to have to weld the two pipes together to seal it up completly.

LOOSEN THE CLAMP AND ROTATE IT A LITTLE AND MOVE THE CLAMP FURTHER BACK,TO JUST WHERE YA SEE THE BEGINING OF THE SLOT IN THE MIDPIPES...WORKED FOR ME.

i must ask a stupid question here. what good is a bigger pipe when you have to downsize it. what size is that on the big end and by the clamp? just a crazy question.

anyway that is not sealed as you see and i would get it fixed. how????? just hold your toung in the right place and it might fit in a little more. maybe toss a wrench or two and that might help get it into position.

Go to a muffler shop in your area and get a heavy-duty muffler clamp and install it REAL tight.

alright, i took the whole cat-back apart... but i can't for the life of me
pull the magnaflow off the mid pipes........ i've WD-40d that biznatch up
hammertimed it.. i'm gonna have some lunch and let the WD-40 soak in
for a little bit.. i know it wasn't nessesary but i just wanted to lube it up
a lil and see if i could get it on a bit more snug.. :dontknow:

so what your saying is just twist the clamps a little bit then push them
farther back towards the magnaflow? i'll try it and by god if it works i'm
gonna post a video :D

Try a torch to heat up the joint, then brute force it with mechanical agitation.

Sharp lets fix this

First take apart the offensive section, then take some hi temp silicone and smear with finger inside the recieving pipe.

Next and you can get this at a commercial truck parts store, or sometimes a local parts store, but they have what is called a exhaust "band" it is wide and when installed correctly will cover both sections of pipe thus sealing the offensive leak

i heard somewhere if u can pee on it while the truck is running it will seal the leak :canabis:

when i parked it yesterday it sounded much better :dontknow: i'm gonna
drive it some today and see if there really is much of a difference in
sound.. if not well hell... i can live with it for a few more weeks untill i get the
headers etc etc.. :D
