Curious as well... That's very impressive mileage out of this truck, unless you go 55-60 out on the highways constantly maybe :dontknow:

no simply set the cruise at 70 mph in 6th gear and whalla 19-21mpg based elevation. my truck is only turning 1450rpm at 70mph in 6th gear leterally idling down the hwy.

Blaine's correct.

That shot is from a road trip. Cruise was set at 72 or 73 on an 05 RC (with almost 2000 lbs. of gear in the bed).

I think the 04's can get close, but the 4:11 rear end might adjust the MPG a little.

QC guys....well....you can live vicariously through me. :D

In-town driving I'm getting about 13-15 MPG. Not great, but better than my Durango. :)

thumbs up to the daily driver drivers!!!!
got 18.2 on a round trip to White Bear Lake, MN. 75 m.p.h. was the magic number. Yaw. Oh Yaw
just turned over 21,000 on my 2nd '05 RC

Same here, I'm in the land of flat straight roads. People at work driving 1500 chevrolet PU are floored when they hear that the SRT is getting 19 -20 on the highway. Gotta love that 6th gear

You guys and your high mpg's. I wanna puke. Sounds like you drive like old ladies. I have never bested 9.0mpg and the last couple months I average under 7mpg. I drive it like a race car and always will. Otherwise, might as well get an economy car. Really, why did you buy this truck if you're gonna drive so slow that you can get better than the mileage advertised on the sticker? I have never owned a vehicle that got the mileage listed on the sticker. Always less. Probably the way I drive. And that my friends, is why I bought a 500 HP vehicle. If you drive it like a granny, I will never understand why.

Wow, I'm impressed, you beat me to the gas station. :burnout:

Chris- I'll race ya to Orlando. :D

My MPG shot was on a PUBLIC HIGHWAY during a WEEKDAY.
You pay to close off I-70, and I'll smoke the tires from here to St. Louis.

Why am I only doing 72-73mph on the highway?
Because that's the most expensive ticket I can afford. :D

If you want 160mph and cab full of irresponsibility, check elsewhere.

.......:dito: ......I guess we belong to the wuss club...:D

I drive 55 miles one way to work everyday. I backward plan, so I don't have to drive "Like a race driver". but it is nice to know I can drop down to 4th and open her and let her fly if needed.

Were not "Wuss's", it really just dollars and sence.

Hmmm, will have to try that next long road trip I'm on... I set the cruise around 80 or so, guess that's my main problem then

And when getting up to speed, I just can't seem to shift until at least 4K rpm; gotta love that Magnaflow sound

Read post #4. Not to brag, but I saw this post coming a mile away. ;) :D

In my 15 mile commute to work the highest speed limit is 45.......I drive like a granny, so sue me. The upside to it is that I only use one tank of gas a week. So not only do I drive like a wuss, but I am cheap.......guess I should sell the truck and buy a USED Prius. :driver:

I drive a 725 hp vehicle (using your definition) and seldom go over the speed limit. I also push beyond minimal rpm before I shift because it provides a thrill and the kind of noise I enjoy. Why would you judge someone else based on their mpg? Pretty narrow perspective. There are lots of ways to enjoy a piece of machinery...your comment evokes the thought of "why would you buy this truck with all of its power potential and keep it at a measly 500 hp?"

You are absolutly correct, you will never understand why. Nothing personal intended here...just trying to broaden your perspective...
