With Nats and all I have been distracted but everyday I have been praying that they are still alive...8 days now....what a nightmare...

This all pretty tough for me. Ealier I went to a car show down in Helper Utah and met some really cool people. They were all Miners. Quite frankly, I don't think I have ever met a group of people that got along better in my entire life. There are folks that you would never believe are miners.
I laughed, had a good time and for a while forgot about all the trivial crap that goes on in the world. They talked about family and just having good people to be around on there time off and to know that everyone that goes down in the mine had there back.
Kinda of reminds you of another profession doesn't it.
Not only do I have the upmost respect for what these folks do every day. I have found a place in my heart every day. It's just not the bad days where they need our thoughts, its everyday.

I was thinking about the miners today myself, wondering why I didnt see anything on the news about them this past weekend. Its scary man.....

Perhaps. Or likely they are (or sadly, more likely were) all too aware of the passing of time. I cannot think of a more miserable end than to be buried alive.

I lost a cousin in a Virginia mine collapse. Really sucks for the family as they just end up going back into the mine anyway. It's a hard life but there are typically no other industries that pay as well around the mines. Oh...And I lost another cousin in a dump truck accident; he hauled coal from the mines.
My heart goes out to the miners and especially the families who are truly in the wait and see mode.
