I have a 2005 RC. Have magnaflow, cat delete (both of them), and CAI.

Not interested in NOS and FI (at least for now).

So, what do you guys suggest as the next step for more HP?

Thanks for all help/opinions.

Hmm, a Stage II with VEC controller or without would be a good add. But also for the same price you could upgrade the shifter and some traction...

Either way your looking around the $1000 mark...

caltracs was the best 350 buks I have spent,,,,,,the flash felt like it woke my rc up..... with the flash and caltracs you will be alot quicker..

oh yea and if youre on street tires dont forget to put on STINKERS secret traction sauce:rock:

Wait a minute...tell me about the stage II flash for an RC....?

I heartily agree for a qc...but would one of you tell me what the Stage II flash is going to do to increase horsepower for this man? If he had more mods or had FI, well maybe inhibiting the open loop urge when changing gears...but with his current mods, I am at a loss at how the hp is going to be improved.

Just asking....

with the flash I got from dc along with the T-sat it keeps the engine running about 180 degrees ,,,,,,,so its not loosing no power when it gets out of the temp range......also it leans the engine out so its making better hp threwout the whole rpm range

So for a grand you get 30 degrees lower temp to prevent heat soak and a leaner running engine...is that what you are saying? I think he is asking for hp increase...

Correct. I am asking for HP. Not interested in shifter or traction just yet!

You can get stage 2, long tube headers, caltrac, short shifter, or umm... supercharger!

the thing is IMO that you have enough HP,,,,,you will get out of the hole alot quicker with traction,,,,,,its not like youre going for top end speed.......And with a few traction mods it will seem like you picked up a bunch of HP because you are now getting it to the pavment.....unless you just like to spin the tires everywhere you go or slip the hell out of youre clutch

Oklahoma, you are at a cross road...Since you say you are not interested in FI or spraying...then you are approaching the point where you will need to start a planned build. Very soon your deletion of NOS and FI will drive you into the engine...Striker Heads, Diamond Pistons, Forged Rods, new push rods, rockers, lifters, cam...

Are you ready for that?

All of us have to make the same decisions at some point.

While you say that traction is not of interest to you yet...you will find yourself spending nearly equal dollars for traction as you spend for hp...

Here are other suggestions that, while not specifically hp mods, are very important...to you and your RC...Centerforce Clutch, Fidanza flywheel, Viper Slave and Master Cyl. Cal tracs, Shift light, fuel management (i.e. VEC III), a drive shaft loop, shaved rear calipers, 16 or 17 inch rims with slicks...

Well you get the idea...

Maybe you should reconsider the FI route...Sean Roe has his TMTS on the shelf just waiting for you....

I thought maybe you would have a silver bullet... So, in round numbers, what will a TMTS set me back assuming I do the install myself. Any idea how much of a project the install is? If I did go this route, what other pieces are mandatory (e.g., clutch, etc.)? Thanks for everyones help.

Roe will be about $6000, you will also need VEC III and Water Meth about $1400. I would not do these without doing the Centerforce Clutch, Fidanza lightweight flywheel, Viper Slave and Master cyl, and Boomers Gen IV Shifter about $2500...and in my opinion you also need Mopar Long Tube headers too, $1600...now that pcm flash will be important! $1000.

At this point you will be in serious need of traction so...Cal tracs $400, Stinkers Rear End, $3500; wheels and slicks, $1000. Drive shaft loop $150; Helmet $300;

But hell, who am I to be telling you...Stinker and I are still 14 second trucks;)

The DC Performance flash will wake up your RC for sure. Well worth the cash IMO. If you have an 04, I would change our your gears to 4.88's unless you plan on the SC route. Eventually (depends on your driving style) you will need a clutch, centerforce is the one of choice at the moment, also you will need to upgrade to the viper master cylinder/slave setup. Stock hydrolics suck and wont work with the centerforce unit.

If you dont want to drop the coin for the Roe TMTS, what I mentioned will make your truck feel like a torque monster.........not as wicked as the Roe but you will be able to spin the tires like crazy in first and second just by flooring it.........I am not talking poping the clutch here......simply by full throttle............I have major traction issues at stoplights!!!! :burnout: LOL
