Model Year Schooling

Yea, never said I searched. What I did search was the diff gearing and I'd still like more real world info( gearing makes a huge difference off road as well as load carring capacity I'm sure it has affects on mileage and acceleration.) as well as how the tonneau cover affect down force from the wing, as the 04 that broke the world record didn't have a tonneau cover. Did the 2500 frame stiffen up the chassis? Again I don't care about paint and badges.

4.10 to 4.56 is not a huge difference and may be negligible with this much power, is one truck more usable on the street or track with gearing? When I've swaped gears in my off road rig we usually go from 4.10 to 4.88 or 5.29 depending on lift and tires and skip 4.56 all together. Now when speaking a HD truck(Mack for instance) a little gear change can make a huge difference in mileage based on fuel curves and what speed the truck spends most of its time running.

A few other little changes

-04-05 use RB1 NAV the '06 uses REC NAV
-The cab design on the '06 leads to the dreaded "SEAT SHAKE"

Oh and the Inferno Red is the best looking color lol

Actually, you are both incorrect. My '04 weigh's exactly the same as an '06 RC. There may indeed be frame differences, but the 300 pound difference is an internet myth.

Yes, there was. I can't help but chuckle at people who say they have "been researching" when a simple search would have answered all their questions. The last thread on this topic was two months ago: http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/f7/differences-2004-2006-rc-56188/

I dunno that search button can be trickey. I've tried searching for threads I KNOW i've seen and not have not been able to find it.

What's that about? Unless that's a joke.

Unfortunately its no joke. I had new tires and an alignment done on the same day and my ball cap with a metal buckle vibrated noticeably (the buckle) in the passenger seat. :(

the 04' had the 4:10's to break the lightning's record for fastest production truck:rock::chain:

I can agree there, I've searched before and not found the same thread twice, that's why I resort to Google and it's easier

It is not I think it's like 8 out of 10 '06-'08(Maybe '09 cause it's the 2500) Ram 2500, 3500, and Ram SRT-10 QCs because of the cab redesign suffer from shakey seat syndrom. If no one is in the seat, it literally shakes a considerable amount, you swear it wasn't bolted down at times. It'll even shake just from idling. Take a look at Google

PROVEN FACT

It's confirmed, that means it must be true... That's how the internet works haha

Right here with you, some days I'll ignore it. Some days I have to ride with my arm on the seat to keep it from doing it because it is so annoying!

Did you even bother to click on the link I provided? There was a plethora of information regarding differences in model years.

Tonneau cover makes no difference in top speed on a stock truck. Most of the bed is a "dead zone" for airflow.

The "2500 frame" is a myth. Don't take my word for it, PM any of the guys who have weighed their '06 RC's and they weigh exactly the same as the 04's and 05's.

The world record top speed run was done at the top of 5th gear, but not at redline. Either the 4.10's or 4.56's will run enough RPM in 5th to duplicate the world record speed.

Asking about personal preference on gears is a sure way to bring out a variety of colorful personalities. I recommend doing a search for "4.88". You can then read about gear selection for our trucks, to your hearts content.

you have questions that have been asked and answered for almost a decade now.
bulletize your questions, and you might get answers. of course, you'll get 46 different answers.

regarding the gears, my 05 had 4.56 and my 04 has 4.10's and i hate my 4.10's... it sucks pulling my trailer and even though i go to the track a lot, the only reason i care to have the 4.10's is because in the 8th, i pop the limiter at the lights with DR's because of the tire size... the 4.10's will help that, but for the other 90% of my driving and driving style, i don't like them at all.

it's trickery so you keep coming back. it's intentional, don't let it get to you :D

that's because most of your links are to big dick midget porn, which in and of itself is either an oxymoron or two balloon animals away from a blow up doll party, and honestly, we aren't all attracted to it... intrigued, none the less, however, so please don't stop... WADR
