I am thinking about buying another members used Mopar Long Tube Headers, and wanted some feedback from you guys on fitment on a quad cab, and how hard the install would be? Thanks.

i believe someone just put them on there truck, do a quick search it was last week and they had to remove i think the steering linkage to get them on, besides that they are a good product

That's me !

I only put on one side and thats the difficult one , the drivers side , truck is not yet fired up so cannot comment on sound :confused: :( -anyway here is my review on the headers ;

- I bought them from Dragon ( a vendor on here ) good price and he can supply them already coated which is excellent .

- The drivers side is soooo tight you will have to take of the inner fender liner ,steering linkage (very easy really) and the horn :D to be able to slide the headers in .
- The Oxygen sensor extension that came with the kit had different connectors than the OEM on my 06 QC - but i changed those , but if you have a 05 they may fit ??

- Some bolts are very difficult to get to which sucks

if you need any help , let me know
:marchmellow:

Thanks, now i am wondering if i will lose performance, because i have 3" catless mids now, and the mopar headers from what i am researching online are 2 1/2".

would nt see it being a problem, you want to keep the velocity of the air going out of your exhaust up.

Thanks hashash. That helps alot. Now the only thing I have to figure out is if i want to lose my 3" catless mids to go to 2 1/2" catless mids.

it comes with mids , so you wont use the ones you have

So it prob would not make a difference? What about just installing short headers to the 3" catless mids? I am trying to get best performance overall, not sound. Thanks.

best performance in Bellanger.

bassani shortys are easy to install

It is my opinion that shorties will offer very small power gains.Long tubes are the way to go if you want headers.Neither are worth the expense to me.If they were just a little more reasonably priced, sure. But for the gains you get ,I can't see doing it.

disclaimer : I am not a paid spokesman for Mike Brady : :) :

Rick, snakeguts has a set of bellangers and mids for a good deal sir:)

Thanks, but I just picked up the Mopar long tube ones, they are like brand new, and I got a great deal on them. Just trying to find a place to have them jet-hot coated. I am hoping there is a place nearby to have it done.

I had mine done by Airborne Coatings, same thing ,different name.

Buy the headers for the bling factor. Don't expect any difference in power. I just dynoed my truck and another guy did his on the same day and the only difference in our mods really are the headers. He actually made a 4 more horsepower and the torque was the same.

I got mine for looks more than anything.
