Dave;

The $60 at the gate is for the car and driver not like the $65 pre-registration which gets the car and TWO people in the gate. Plus pre-registered ($65) get goodybags.

I am very interested in what the guy that raced paid. Was he pulling a trailer? or you telling me that he paid $145 for JUST him and his SRT-10 to race? Only in one class? This is important, cause basically this means the people at the gate are pocketing money and obviously I need to know this. That is why we only give one ticket per entry (Car & Driver) at the gate as otherwise I would have no clue on the number of people in the car and would give the people at the gate the opportunity to steal us blind. I need to know if this is true, can I talk to this guy, if we know what day and approximate time he entered, I can find out who was at the gate. Does he know if it was (assuming Gate A) it was a man or women that charged him?

NHRA rules state 13.99 and faster need a helmet, I think that is stated in the drag racing information, but I will check to make sure it is if its not for next year.

Apprecate the feedback, cause the track runs these portions of the event, and unless someone tels us we have no clue what is going on.

I am chatting with a supervisor at the Mopar Nats. We came up to the topic of entry fees. I remember people telling me they paid anywhere from 60-145 dollars. Could you post what you paid (and how many people were in your truck, what you were or were not racing, and if you were pulling anything)?

Let me clarify. Those who paid at the gate.

Here was the other combinations:
So racing wasn't free (as people were saying prior to the Nats), it was actually another 30 bucks added on to the fees.
Dave;

There is a difference in entry fees based on when you enter the event. We give a discount to the ppl that pre-register as it makes the entry into the grounds much easier and obviously gets us working capital in advance of the event. The Refular entry fee is $65 pre-registered and then goes to $0 after June 30 thru July 15. That gets the car and 2 adults into the event. If you register at the gate the fee is $60 for regular entry and includes the car and only one person. Its $90 at the gate if your going to race the car. So I can only assume if there is 2 people or more in the car the fees would range from $60 for a single person regular at the gate to a $130 for a race entry at the gate with 2 ppl in the vehicle. As the track handles the gates, I would be most interested in knowing if this was the fee schedule charged at the gate.

Regular - $60 (car & Driver)
Race - $90 (Car & Driver)
$40 for three day pass
$30 for 2 day pass
$20 for single day pass.

Obviously there is all kinds of combinations depending on when you registered at the gate.

Ehhh....not quite.
On Saturday, Michael had (my) Rachel in his truck going through the gate. He already had his window sticker and entry ticket, but the gate asked for TWO entry tickets, so Michael was kind enough to spot Rachel the $20 for her ticket.
(I still owe you that, Michael. I'll get it out to you this week.)

Michael can update this if it's incorrect:

FRIDAY
Persons: 1
Towing: No
Racing: Yes
Gate: H
Entry Fee (prepaid): $65.

SATURDAY
Persons: 2
Towing: No
Racing: Yes
Gate: H
Entry Fee (cash): $20. cash.

TOTAL: $85.

True they charged me the 20 dollars for a one day ticket for the Rachel. As i said then, don't worry about it at all. Whats 20 bucks amongst friends.

Something seems screwy with the Racing thing, i preregistered late cost me 80 dollars, but i got a tech ticket, when i filled out the form, i merely wrote srt 10 tent on it and regular entrance. So i think the racing price is only i fyou are going to try and compete in a class. Where as we were just there for fun?

Hey, $20 is 1/4 tank of gas! I have this thing about owing people money; I don't like it. :)

Suggestion for Mopar Nats Officials for 2007:
Do the fees a la carte:

Drive-In Admission:
Early Reg: $60 (includes vehicle, driver, and 1 passenger)
Day Of Show Reg: $70 (includes vehicle, driver, and 1 passenger)
Towing: add $10.
Fun Run: add $10.
Racing: add $30.
...and so on.

Early Reg: Your receipt would be marked/signed as to what you/your vehicle is there for.
Day Of Show: Event official initials in boxes, or stamps on the back of tickets, would be an easy way to check when entering, and keep traffic flowing smootly at the gates.
----------------------------------------

Walk-in Admission: $20 each day, per person.
2-day pass: $30
3-day pass: $40.

Do different color tickets for the walk-ins.
-----------------------------------------

Oh, and if the VTCOA has the same tent and location next year, could we PLEASE use the VIP/race officials entry (Gate B)? It's only about 10 yds. from where our tent was this year, and would save us from having to drive through the crowds.
Thanks.

Kevan,

Here is a reply from Jim (Mopar Nats) about your comments:
Dave;

That is just about what we do for fees and charges and colors etc., I cant give two admission passes out with an entry at the gate. I have no means of knowing how many ppl are in the vehicle. So anyone working the gate can be giving out one ticket and saying its two (no extra fee) and then sell that ticket for spectator admission and not record it, and therby pocket the money. We have been doing this for 26 years now, and even though there is still a few loop holes, as far as tickets I think we have them pretty well covered. Now if the entrant gets charged something not right, unless they complain I would never know.

Jim

He didn't seem to respond about your VIP gate comment. So I asked again.:D I used the grounds of safety driving thru the crowds.
