Hey gang...just wanted to get an idea who from Florida is going to the Nat's...

If your planning ...are you towing or driving the truck, or planning on flying in.:dontknow: I was thinking about the option of having a trailer available "just in case". 1200 miles is a haul to try and get your ride home... if it's something we cant fix there....God forbid.
Any way just wanted to get the topic started...that way we can get this nailed down before hand.... it will take some planning. I can probably use the trailer I used to run the truck up to ROE a few weeks ago... we could bring it with us unloaded, or leave the damn thing here...and roll the dice. You know we will be laying off if we do not have transportation back to FL if were racing though.:dontknow:

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Yes that way i could join yall on the way up there, would love to meet up in nashville with mopower on the way to ohio it would be a little out of the way for the fla guys.

Word up Ken

Joe and I are in, room is already booked....

Funny enough, I partied in Daytona with Joe about a month ago, and this same topic came up. First and foremost, I got no issues towing somebody back if they break, so I got you and anyone else covered. On the other hand, I don't really want to tow an empty trailer 1200 miles :( They bounce around and are a huge PITA....also, it's easy to forget an empty trailer is back there....

A thought I had would be to find a trailer dealer in the Columbus area before we leave. Talk to them about needs, and options, and nail down some prices before the trip. If there is a break, we go pick up a new trailer and bring tow the truck home. That way, we have a new trailer, with new bearings, and new tires to carry such an expensive piece of equipment. Trailers have pretty solid resale, and someone in the group might want to buy it afterwards....:dontknow:

Another option is to load you up on the trailer and just have you ride with me both up there and back....we could save on gas, but again, that's an expensive item to have on a used trailer....granted, the trailer you have maybe first class, so that might not be an issue....

if something were to happen, there is a new business out there called u-haul i think they rent trailers, but i could be wrong, also there is a place called penske,i think they do the same thing, then i could be wrong.

I'll check around up here and see if I can find where to buy/rent a tralier locally. If someone wants me to go inspect, feel free to email or call.

There's also the option of using Reliable to ship the truck back. It would probably take a little longer, but it'd probably be cheaper than buying a trailer.

yo Ken! I plan on driving up there and spraying the shit out of my truck and then hopefully making it back! I have family in MI if shit does hit the fan.....I'm sure I could get someone to come pick it up for me and take it to get fixed in MI. I'll bring the extra cryo'd spider gears I have! Its a good idea though about the trailer! I don't have anything to tow a trailer though!

Just a thought.... (imagine that?)

but if all of the FLa guys get together find out who wouldnt mind pulling a trailor, then the QC guys could pull the RC;s and convoy up.

like Brat said Penske and others rents trailors, I def like penske more than u haul tho.

but also one word of warning friends can be made and lost, so make sure your tow buddy is a happy one:D

and to make it easy on you fellas, you could do half distance, stop here in charlotte or close and then finish the next day.

Also you could plan with the guys in ga, sc, nc, va, and wv and by the time you get to ohio, you will need a police escort!!LOLOLOL

north bound and down,

loaded up and truckin

we gonna do what they say cant be done!

we gotta long way to go and a short time to get there

north bound just watch the ol snake run!:p

It's a good trailer...I also rented one from Ryder when we moved down here in 95... Had My Monte SS on it. Not a bad idea to get one reserved in Columbus...but would be a bitch holding it with as much racing that went on.:dontknow: about that one.
Yeah...I wouldn't want the hassle of driving up empty. the trailer takes a bit of work to get a lowered truck on it, I can tell you that.
We took it up to ROE with a 1/2 ton...and it was good...wouldn't want to tote it through the mountains with it though.... truck is a pig.;)
We will be hookin up on the way North though:rock:

You guys can stop over at my house for the night if you don't want to do it in a day.

I'm off I-75 north, exit 144, Warner Robins, south of macon. Only 2.5 miles from 75. NBT knows the way.

Well Ken, you KNOW I'm goin. :D  I would normally jump at the chance (and the photo opportunity ;) ) to haul your truck back, if need be... But, I should have to 2/4 drop on mine before we get up there. :dontknow: I don't think she could pull it then. I'd be draggin ass. :D I also have family in MI and OH (Columbus). So, we should be able to put our heads together, if something happens. :)

I'll still be stock height and will have no problems towing as needed.....I won't tow a U-haul trailer, they suck....not sure about the other companies, but want a good trailer with a bulldog hitch, trailer brakes, etc....

It's all good with me peeps....whatever is best for the group
