Just had a quick question for some of you senior guys...What is the best way to clean the top of the motor?? Being that it's aluminum I have no idea how to buff out the small blemishes on mine...It just sux because the rest of my engine bay looks showroom except for the top. Any good methods would be a hugh help.. THANX

If Simple Green doesn't remove it, unbolt it and send it off to JMB performance for powder coating.

Engine Cleaning..................for motors I suggest you take them in where someone can hook it up to a winding heater to cook the water off :)

i use Griot's engine cleaner & my wheel well cleanin brush to clean the top of the engine to the headers.
i have never tried to clean any of the motors on her
 :burnout:  :congrats:  :burnout: :marchmellow:  :burnout: :congrats:

you talking about the intake manifold? its powdercoated from the factory..so an aluminum cleaner won't work

Powdercoating is done by the individual, not from the factory. No kidding about the finger prints and anything that will make it look like crap.

when i had my intake powdercoated, the guy said the factory finish was a powdercoat and was a bitch to remove.:dontknow:

It's got the stock finish, but I didn't know it was powdercoated. Just figured it was like any other aluminium intake finsih.

Your black powder coating looks good. Who did yours?

yeah... that silver finish is baked on he said.i had a local guy do mine. did you get your exhaust manifolds i sent ya' jet-hot coated yet?

My intake had stains on it from the factory, I tried to clean it, the dealer tried to clean it but they were not coming out. Luckily I had it noted on the bill of sale so I got a new intake under warranty.

Don't over think it...regular car wash soap on a cool engine works for me. I rinse it off with RO water in a garden pump sprayer. :hmmmm: but the wife says i'm weird so.
