Motor Oil and Filter

Got my truck a couple months ago and nearing an oil change for my Paxton SC motor. Looking for a very good motor oil brand and weight, and also a filter (white Mopar Viper or K&N Performance Gold?) that will be appropriate for New Orleans.

Well you are going to get alot of different opinions on oil brand and weight but I live here in Georgia and I run 10W40 year round. Seems to work just fine and I am an amsoil fan. IMO there is no better oil. I think everyone will be in agreement though that as far as the oil filter goes, there is nothing better for these trucks than the white viper filter. You can order one from the dealership for around $17 or I also know Tony sells them on his site.

Mopar filters bought at Wal-Mart----Mobile 1--15X50. Been 85,000 miles and not a glitch and I believe VENOMOUS1 has close to 120,000 miles on the same.

Motor Oil

Thoughts about the oil weight for this location? Think I will go with the Mopar Viper filter.

Mobil 0-40 (factory rec) and white viper filter changed every 3k. I have a home at 7k feet and in phx AZ. Can't get more extreme temps. 150k+ miles...
