How many miles should you put in after the BRC, before you sign up for the ERC? Im getting mixed signals around here, that if your comfortable on your bike, sign up. Other say put 10k miles, and 1 year later?

Im just trying to get as much education i can, and perfect my skills.

Jeff,

as a veteran rider (10+ years) and holder of both certs (brc and erc) i would recommend that when your comfortable on you bike enough to run errands or go to work on it, then you should take the ERC...you dont want to be scared at all on your bike when going to the ERC...you need to be comfortable on it. So, i think once you've ridden it enough to to everyday things on it...then its time for your further education on the bike.

just my .02 brotha...

Its been about 2 years since my BRC, and ive only put in about 1500 miles since then.

I was thinking of it as a refresher before i get back on another liter bike. A little more cautious now considering the bike ill be riding will be in my name.

I agree totally with the being comfortable. That may be a problem, as i get comfortable quick. I think when i get the bike im hunting, ill drive it this winter to and from work, and before the riding season in march ill go take the ERC

being as you get comfy on bikes really quick...the sooner the better on your ERC...well sounds like you have a plan...stick to it and take you ERC in the spring...

be safe
