Movers are packing my stuff up right now. We plan on getting on the road Friday and driving to Savannah. We will stay there till Wednesday of next week with maybe a day trip or two to JAX. We will drive to Chesapeake Virginia on the 27th and move into the new house on the 29th. So keep your eyes out for the Silver Beast on I-10/I-95.

Deb Gregg graduated from McClenny!

Claimed to be the only girl to ever make it big from there.

She ended up marrying the world's most famous race car driver (Peter Gregg) and he committed suicide right after they married and she inherited everything he had. Now lives in Ponte Vedra.

What's up Scott? You transfering?

You know it. I did my last flight last week. Going to the USS Nassau for 2 years. I will start as the Hangar Deck Officer then move to Flight Deck O, Handler and then MiniBoss. After that I have been penciled in for War College but I'm not sure that is what I want to do.

Not 100% sure what that all means Smoke, but I do believe that congratulations are in order. :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:

The boat is like an aircraft carrier but just a little smaller. It carries Helos, Ospreys, Harriers and has a well deck to deploy LCAC (Hovercrafts). As the hangar deck Officer I'm in charge of the enlisted that work on the hangar deck and responsible for moving the aircraft. Flight Deck officer is the same as the Hangar minus the movement of aircraft. Handler is responsible for the movement of aircraft on the flight deck. Mini Boss works in the tower along with the Air-boss. They control all the aircraft flying within 10 miles and those getting ready to takeoff or getting ready to land (Think of the guy getting coffee spilled on his shirt all the time in Top Gun). The sucky part about the job is no flying for 2 years. This is called a disassociated sea tour. It's a job they want a pilot doing but it does not involve flying (i.e. Shooter on an Aircraft carrier).

...You mean "Admiral"? Right?;) :p :p :p

Scott, will look forward to you gettin to the area on the 27th. What part of VB are you going to be living in. I am in Chesapeake about 2 miles from the Joint Command off I-664 at the M&M bridge tunnel.

In either case after you get settled in we can have a GTG for all the local truck owners to welcome you back... :)

The career path you described puts you in line for LCDR at least working on CDR. The war college is a good tour and would set you up for Capt down the road.

.

I will be living in Great Bridge (South Chesapeake). I was 22 below zone this year for O-4. I will be in zone next year and should hopefully pick it and put in on by Oct since I will be close to the senior in zone. I don't know how much longer I'm going to stay in. I have 16 1/2 years as it is now.

Don't need any help with the move. I let the Navy do it all for me. Thanks for the offer.

Movers packed up my computer yesterday. Will be out of pocket for a few days. Later!!!!
