Moving to DC

I got my truck registered in florida until december of 2013. No inspection to worry about for a while.

Not waiting till december are you crazy!

Only thing im worried about is the full emissions testing. Will the Belanger HFC mids work.. probably not for the sniffer. and i will have to reload the stock tune when i get inspected.

Congrats on the new assignment. If you're moving to N. VA, here is a link that answers some vehicle emmissions FAQs. When I registered my 10 back in 2008, no sniffer/dyno test was performed. Only an idle and OBDII check, pressure test and inspection for the gas filler/cap and a visual for cat presence. Last year, same deal, same tests, no sniffer/dyno run.

Thanks for the info Fast ram. Im having catless mids fabbed up with electric cutouts. I am getting it flanged so i can slip in my catted mids for visual inspection. However i will be putting a crankcase breather on it and that will fail the visual inspection.

I think tho, i made myself a florida resident 5 years ago. And being the truck is registered in florida, and im a "resident" i can just mail in my tag fee every 2 years and with florida plates, i wont ever have to worry about passing a vehicle inspection.

Several years ago there was a military family living accross the street from me. They had SC tags on their vehicle for two years, never registered it in VA and then moved onward to another assignment. I think VA allows active duty personnel to keep their current registeration valid but I'm not sure how the process works or what exemptions they offer. But it sounds like you're good to go. When you get settled in, let's get a GTG going.

Hell me might have a gtg before i get settled in. There is beers to be unpacked and furniture to be drank!
