Moving to MD/DC area!!

Yep, packing up and moving to Maryland. I love it down here at the beach, but a job is calling my name in the DC area. So if any of you guys are around the MD/DC area let me know if any shows/cruises come up. I like to attend as many as possible!

oh ya, and I HATE MOVING!!! what a bitch!~:dontknow:

Yeah, it's a pain to move. Where you moving to?

I lived in the DC area for 7 years (over 20 years ago). Lived a couple of years in Mclean, VA, another couple of years in Reston, VA and the remainder in northwest DC (in a cute little house on the corner of 36th & Davenport).

My sister has a house in Solomons, MD and Alexandria, VA and her family (2 kids & 5 grandkids) all still live in northern VA. Also have a cousin (career State Dept. retired) who still lives in there.

Didn't we have a Latino member from DC at the Bakersfield GTG? Sorry, but I don't recall his name or alias. If anyone knows, please make the referral.
 
I just moved from MD Baltimore area, but I had a nissan 350 z at that time.. Go to Cecil County Drag STrip if your in the Baltimore area. Housing is EXPENSIVE but hope you have a godo move and the TRAFFIC SUCKS really bad, so if you can live the opposite direction you have to commute to...

I had the pleasure of meeting him at the Bakersfield GTG. He is a very nice man, and I enjoyed his company very much. He is into our trucks very much and has a big time Boomer built hotrod SRT10.
 
moving to Indian Head, Md About 25 miles south of DC. I just need to get up with somebody that lives near there, so I can get the heads up on all the shows, etc. Im doing the move all by myself with a uhaul. Should be a good ride.

Yep...every Saturday that weather is good...they meet in Manassas...There's like 4 SRT-10 but not all are part of the forum...
 
Ok, Ill keep that in mind. Like I said, just give me a heads up if anything good pops up around the Va, DC, MD area. Ill see you guys on the street!

Indian Head huh?..I went to EOD school there in the 80s..Back then, not alot going on there...
 
haha...EOD school huh? I was a engineer in the marine corps there. Its a good base to be on, not much to do in town. DC has a lot to do, but its the 210 traffic that SUX!

u still live in MD?
 
Nah..I live in PA now..Havent been back to Indian Head since like 83. What was the name of that bar on the base?..got kicked outta there a few times..lol..Also got kicked out of most bars in town for D and D, fightin with the locals, etc..Good times...
 
haha...ya, i think we all got kicked out of those places. Umm, the bar on base is called the Tiki Bar I think. It may have changed since you were there last. I was a marine there, and thats what the bar was full of each night! BEER MUSCLES!

are there a lot of shows, and meetings near us PA, MD area?
 
I live in Annapolis and I am in the process of organizing a fund raising cruise for our non-profit that does cancer research and education. I am hoping to do the cruise from Baltimore to the Tiki Bar in Solomons Island (about 80 miles) and then have a full car show there. I will keep everyone here on the board updated on the progress.

If you are ever around Annapolis or Baltimore, give me a shout.

On the 21st of Oct I will be at the Manassas cruise-in.meet a lot of good people there.A lot of the Lightning guys will be there.

DC is traffic crazy!!
Waldorf is full of shows and cruises..

I'm in that area all the time, bro albeit never with my truck. I'll have to buy a brother vet a beer. Even if you are a nasty Marine. :rock:
 
Be sure you hit Rosies in PAX River.... Spent some time on the AAAV Program for the Marine Corp in PAX river. Manasas has some good get togethers, Tysons Corner has some nice imports, Did a 350Z cruise from Baltimore to Tysons Corner, and we ended up with around 50 Z's that day, it was fun as hell running down 495 with that many Z's. good luck in your move and new job...
