I have told some of you guys that I am having problems with my CTS-V. Cadillac (and GM) is still jacking me around.

Engineering looked at the car last Friday and said that the sunroof was within manufacturer's spec, even though the dealer and the Regional Representative have verified the rattling noise coming from the sunroof. The Regional Rep told me he wanted to speak with some people at GM about repairing the sunroof, and he would not know anything until after Thanksgiving.

Look at some of my stats...I purchased the car new on 7/31/06. For some reason they had already started the warranty when I got it (yes they had made some repairs before I purchased the vehicle-new).

Nine visits to the dealer to repair sunroof started 10/06 (4900 miles on car), continued visits to repair 12/06, 4/06, 5/06, 6/06 (3), 10/06, and 11/06 (just got the car back yesterday, as they also replaced the rear differential while assessing the sunroof).

Other repairs:
New radiator, new differential, 3 new sunroofs (still not repaired), new passenger seat leather, replacement tires (wore out before 5K miles on car…highway driving), squeaky parking brake, rear bumper cover retightened, rear seats coming loose, OnStar replaced, Driver Information Center went out, two new headlights, bushing broke on rear end (replaced twice), center console replaced, miscellaneous interior panels have been replaced, all four window frames replaced, climate control module replaced, headlamp washers repaired, and replaced power seat module.

..ALSO the check engine light came on this morning on the way to work.

I think I would park it right in the cadillac showroom! I would demand a new car from them. I know someone out here who luck would have it ended up with 3 "lemon" sportsters. When it happened the last time HD told him to come in and pick any bike off the floor. He ended up with an Ultra for the price of a Sporty. I would be looking for the same kind of deal from Cadillac.

Wow. I would be pissed.

Consult the Lemon law in your state. or over insure the thing and drive it into a lake. Maybe it will make a good anchor, or fish habitat.

Damn (Car)dude , I would think that definately constitues as a:

Yep, that's horse shit.... It sounds like (to me) they dropped it off the truck, or something. :dontknow:  If everything is so tweaked up, it had to be something like that. :( You need a new car..... I think you have been a good enough sport and played their game for too long.

Lemon law for sure. You have been too understanding IMHO. If everything is documented, you have a great case.

The big problem is I have ran out of people to talk to at GM. I can't go any higher than the Regional Rep...even then he is the only one who can call me, I can't call him...they have given me no number. He has only called me from protected locations (like the dealer's phone).

Know any good Lawyers? :dontknow:

I think you've got good leg to stand on. I'm sure you've researched CO's Lemon Laws. To have a car in the shop that many times, AND that many times for one particular thing and still no fix is rediculous.

Is the regional rep's name Mr Smith? His email address is listed on GM's website. ;)

^^ Edit: Maybe not. I didn't read all the fine print . . . :(

I had an issue with damage to my previous SRT without disclosure.....got to the point where I contacted 3 body shops for estimates, an attourney, the BBB, and the attny general (I think???).....anyway, the regional rep called to find out how my situation was going.....told her I was working my estimates, had an appointment with an attny, was tracking all my expenses and time involved in this dispute, and was tired of wasting my time trying to reason with them the last 3 weeks....

After a long pause, she said, "let me call you back".....30 minutes later, a dealer rep called, said come pick out a brand new 06 QC for the same price you paid for your 05 RC (I got a smoking deal the first time).....not perfect, but at least it got the job done....and all along, all I wanted was another 05 RC that wasn't damaged....idiots....

and you put up with that why?

Believe it or not, earlier this year I was super busy and was just not paying attention to how many times I was visiting the dealer. In June when I went in 3 times in a row I finally started to lose it, but didn't contact anyone until Oct when they tryed to repair it again. Cadillac offers a loaner car everytime so it is not as inconvenient as say losing a daily driver without a loaner, I also love the performance of the car...so I always had something to look forward to when I got it back.

Sorry to hear about your caddy, thought they had turned the corner....Look at the bright side, at least it isnt as bad as our trucks :D

you may be out of people to talk to, but once you get a lawyer involved, i bet they perk up and listen.......you should be getting a new car

You have exhausted all your attempts to rectify this with GM.....

You have (hopefully) kept a complete record of all the repair history.... Now make a duplicate file of all those documents and find an aggressive Lemon Law (Magnussen Moss Act) attorney with a winning track record and take GM to court.....

GM will drag their feet and do their best to wear out your patience in the process... They know they built a lemon, they just don't wanna pay for it.... They have whole departments for this kinda shit....

Dig yer heels in and prepare for a 2-3 yr battle... Who knows, you may get lucky and conclude business in less time. But getting a great and aggressive attorney is the first step.... I went thru this whole issue with the clutch hydraulics on my truck.

The lawyers told me that juries don't like Vipers and they don't like superchargers... They added that I'd probably just end up losing the case... So I dropped it cuz no lawyer would take my case without a large contingency fee up front....

I doubt that your Caddy case will be similarly problematic.....

All the best of luck to you, Lawrence..... Kick their ass in court... It's the only way.... GM will probably end up taking your car back the day before this goes to court....

Magnussen Moss Act, is federal law.

Once you have documented three visits for the same problem and it has not been rectified the dealer is in violation of the act.

You have a prema facia case.

Check the law.

I expect this kind'a crap from Chrysler, but not from a GM over a Caddy. Let them know you were purchasing a car not yellow citrus produce. I hope this issue is resolved to your satisfaction really soon dude.

You don't need a shoulder to cry on, you need an ass to go kick.

Take a lawyer in with you on the next trip and give them a choice. Do it the easy way or the hard way, either way they are f*cked.
