I love those early 60s bubble top Impalas.
Dad's is for sure a nice piece.
I had a 62 bubble top in high school 283 glide with air & windows. It did not go fast but I just loved that car. I have an afinity for 62s, but I would settle for a 63.
If I bought another vehicle I had better be able to live in it. I have too much rolling stock now.

his first car was a 63 with a 283 and 3sp on the column. white with red interior.i wish i had my good camera with me that is one straight body

super nice 63. I personally love the 66 the most.

what is your dad gunna do with the 383? I need a nice motor for my monte or elco

dont know yet. guy said only thing wrong with it is it leaks a little oil where the timing cover meets the oil pan. easy fix really but it sounds bad ass. said he took the 373 rears out and put a 308 in b/c it wouldnt get traction. ill see if he wants to sell it.

I think it was back in 1977 I gave away a 63 SS. It was very clean with no damage and low miles.

No sense being dumb unless you can prove it.

That is a beautiful 63! I used to have a 63 non SS myself. Like FSTJACK, I'm a sucker for a 62, so I sold the 63, and got me an even nicer 62 SS. It's not as nice as your pop's 63, and it sure as hell doesn't hace a 427 in it, but it's mine and I love it! Make sure to keep us posted with pics.

Nice car! That will be badass with a 427 in 'er!
BTW, he is talking about the all aluminum 427 Zl-1 (big block)that Chevy just produced a few repros of as a commerative edition. It is badass.

That is a sweet ride. My bud has an all original 63 SS 409 car that is the same color.

The ZL-1 was a great engine. I had an L88 in my 66 Chevelle, and always wished that I could have afforded the ZL-1.

ZL1 Anniversary Edition 427 19166392 Description
19166392 To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Chevrolet big block, GM Performance Parts has brought back a modern version of the ZL1 for your chance to relive muscle car history. The Anniversary Edition 427 starts with a retooled version of the ZL1 aluminum block using the exact same tooling that helped create this legend in 1969. The advantage of the aluminum block is that it offers the completed engine the weight of a small block with a whole lot more power. With a full list of features, this modern ZL1 is one of the most exclusive big block crate engines ever offered by GM Performance Parts. Fittingly, only 427 will ever be produced, and then the ZL1 tooling will be retired forever. The 427 lucky owners of this commemorative monster can expect an estimated 480 horsepow

480 HP in a pigs eye. Those engines are well over 500 HP.
