Glad your Pop, and PD is ok...we are pretty used to calling out our responding location upon approaching intersections, on the operating TAC channel when we have a fire call and multiple units responding....this has avoided multiple close calls to date. PLUS...we never exceed the posted by 5mph....not worth it...it's not our emergency. Some of these guys drive WAY TOO FAST....responding to arm pain, toe pain, runny nose...ect. There are exceptions to the rule...pediatric drowning, potential victim in a multiple calls/ hooked up structure fire, cardiac arrest...ect...then we hop it up.
Not much your Pop could do about the situation he got into..just glad he is OK.:rock:
