my dog hs a tumor

update..got the results back today and Faith has a cancer in the muscle of her right thigh, the vet said that the only option would be to amputate the leg at the hip.we are weighing the options of whither to amputate or try to make her comfortable and leave the leg alone.this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

Earl,

If they can give you any assurance that she will be with you (cancer free) for another 5 years or longer following the amputation then I'd do it if ya have the resources....

God bless and good luck......

Got to agree with Tim. Lots of three legged animals out there and after they adjust, they are just fine.

However, if they cannot assure you of that, it's not worth it to put the animal through that suffering.

Just my opinion. You need to do what is right for you. No matter what, we are still here for you.

Much love to you all...... I'm sure that this is an excruciating choice to make.

I believe that your heart will find the right answer, with God's help.....

Love her while you can.....

you know I will,we got that movie for our 6 year old to watch, she knows whats going on with Faith, but shes having a hard time dealing with what might happen, the movie helps a little.

Having lost some wonderful pets in the past,I know there is no easy way to accept failing health or illnesses....My little Onyx(14 now) is also failing,But I,m happy knowing that she had a pampered and happy life..We expect her to be gone soon:dontknow: but knowing that we gave her the best life possible make it a little easier.

God Bless you and we be praying for you to meke the decision that will be the best one for your family and for Faith ..............

KEEP THE FAITH

Take a deep look into Faith's eyes, Earl... She'll tell you what to do... My guess is (that) she wants to live..... But, only you can tell, as you're her best friend. God bless Faith, Lord. And please guide our loved brother to the right decision...

Much love to you, and your family, Earl.... If you would like to talk, please give me a call.... You know I'm up all night anyway...

Jake and Sarah.
