My Son bought a GTO

My oldest bought a Pontiac GTO 2004 with an LS1 Chevy Motor, apparently its a Holden with a GM Badge ( An Aussie ride) I have to say this its impressive his has the 5.7 motor, still 350 hp in that roller skate

Did not ride in one, raced one I know after 110 he couldnt keep up. But they are a mother off the line almost had me swetting but they are quick fuggers.

Thanks Mate he has had German most of the time ( Audi )but tried a Jap Truck for a year Nissan Titan ( what a sack of shit that was) Guess the Japs cant build a Truck:dontknow: anyway we picked up this low mileage GTO for $9k, Dad was quite pleased allthough the yellow is interesting:argh:

The 350 hp ones are an easy target the 400 hp are still beatable.

The 04 GTO was a low 5 second 0-60 car...the auto version was actually quicker that the stick....05 & 06 models got a 400HP 6.0...this dropped their 0-60 into the high 4s..........I have driven all 3 yr models and liked the performance but could not get past that sunbird look....Production ceased with the 06 model due to dismal sales....my local Pontaic dealer was still trying to get them off his lot when the 2008 models came out....They ran some hot prices trying to move them...you could buy one for around $25K brand new..

Holden is the aussie version of shelby,but cheaper:burnout: and the ute is not a truck:marchmellow: Plus to me the GTO now is a throw away car. Dont get me wrong whoever had it probabally dumped alot more then 9k into, you got a hell of a deal to, but in the long run getting parts for that will be more expensive then getting parts for a 65 GTO. Get into bracket racing and he will make some cash that is for sure.

I have always liked the Holden Monaro (GTO)... I'm guessing you will be able to find parts for them pretty easy in the future. There is a big aftermarket out there, and they still make them in Australia (and, IIRC, UK under the Vauxhall brand). I really like the new G8 too, even though it's 4 doors.

Tell yer boy not to fret... The GTO is a monster with very little aftermarket parts needed.

What I mean is Holden is the Aussie version of Performance and when you say shelby to me it doesnt mean Ford it means Power only thing left ford on a real shleby is the name, and then again I think about silverbacks car not the newer ones.:rock: LS1 is a GM motor.

Holden is a performance offshoot of the gm brand down under, whenever you here of a Holden you think of Performance and speed. Just like shelby when you mention his name you think of Power. That is all Holden is the shit down under and has set some good records, but not too many people even heard of him out here unless the real gear heads. Because to us speed is speed. Your son made out like a bandit dont get me wrong. My cousin is a GTO geek but 65 so when I look at the new ones the only thing the same is the name.
