My Z06 broke again :(

Z06 broke again today sitting at a stop light. 2800 miles on the odometer. Won't be able to have it towed in till Chevy until tomorrow as their service department closed at 6pm EST. It seems to be something serious though. The engine refuses to idle, refuses to start without throttle, throttle response had about 1 sec lag, it shakes ferociously back and forth about an inch in either direction, I think I may have broken a motor mount, not sure though and the transmission makes a really loud metallic clinking noise. We'll see what diagnosis they give it tomorrow. This was the tip of the straw for me, Gallardo next most likely (even though I am also considering a Murci, but it's a bit more than I really want to spent).

for a 100K car that sucks....here in Oklahoma a 06-z06 is 100K......totally unacceptable.....sorry man...:(

I thought the roof may have flown off yours. That does suck, no matter what car you buy something like this can happen at any moment. You'd think for the money you spent they'd come out no matter what time of day to help you out.

what happen the first time?

He did lose his roof awhile back. I think that's why he said broke again.

That does suck. :mad:
 
Yeah the roof flew off about 1.5-2 months ago and now this.

HEHE, they offered 60k :p I'm not too concerned, the car is under warranty.
 
Sprite you have a great car there, actually one of the best in the world, everything from Ferrari's on have problems bro, at least with the gm it can be a tad less expensive to fix. From the sound of it , it shouldnt be too bad a problem. Keep it and enjoy the ride, I dont think in the long run you will be happy with the lambo, but thats my 2 cents on it.
 
Didn't you just get a ticket for "careless driving" in that thing too? Not a good week with the vette I guess. My old mans new Z06 had the same roof problem about two weeks after he picked it up. I just read that GM recalled a bunch of vettes due to something being wrong with their roofs. Hope you have bettert luck next week. Also, if you want a Gallardo, give the prices another 6 months to a year to come down. The prices are starting to drop quite a bit since alot of 04's are coming off of leases right now and you'll be able to get alot more car for your money.

Yeah if I decide on a Gallardo I'll shop around till I find a good deal as I'm not really in a hurry. I'll know after I try my friend's Gallardo Sunday night if I'll want one or not. You're right though, not a good week for the Vette, I think it may be pissed at me for even CONSIDERING trading it in on an 06 Viper.
 
Man the ZO6 is as one said one of the best bang for the dollar cars. If you have a 06 Z06 which is what it sounds like then the car aint worth 100k Thats street price NOW, not engenering price.

For MSRP price, when cost is down to that, it preforms as well as the viper, Not saying one is better then the other i love both cars, both are different animals. But for the money your not gonna find one better then the other.

I take a stab and say your problem is deffinatly Computer related. Prehaps even MAF related. The tranny sound well thats :( :dontknow:

You were wrong :p

GM are installing a new engine in my car right now. Old one broke a rocker arm, push rod, valve spring and a valve.
 
just hit 2800 miles, the car is completely stock.
