is it possibile to aftercool a N/A engine & would there be any benifits to it?????

Anytime you can cool intake air you will gain horsepower.

Funny, I thought of a similar idea where I run the Suction line from the A/C threw a separate A/C evaporator coil similar to the one in the truck but customized to fit inside the intake tract via CAI ductwork. Problem was parasitic loss from running the A/C compressor (very minimal) and the extra condensation and relieving it anywhere except the track. Would need a diaper/condensate catch can.
Imagine pushing 40-50* all year long
Thru your intake tract. Not to mention the IAT sensor reading those ACTUAL values as well. Very cool, dense air charge!

That'd be the only way to do it, you would lose power through and intercooler N/A because it'd be a restriction in the intake. Even turbo cars lose boost going through an I/C

thats was my concern. not sure how the car coolers are built, the ones on the trucks have "baffles" in the tubes, to aid in coolin, give the heat time to disapate. have seen 2 to 4 p.s.i. pressure drop from inlet to outlet. part of that from the air coolin down.

have heard of Scott's input, but never seen it in use.

would it also be "useless" because you would be pullin the same air temp as you would be coolin with???:dontknow:

i did see a guy with a harley truck use one of these before, but he said if it did help that it wasn't really noticable

he might not of had it hooked up right though, everytime he hit the button to make it cold it sounded like a nitrous purge, i don't know if it is supposed to lose all the CO2 or not, but i think it'd be perfect for trying the A/C line idea. but i think condensation on a hot day would cause trouble, water in the combustion chamber can't be good...
