Nascar in Phoenix

Boarding a plane Friday morning to Phx and am spending the weekend at the track for the Nascar races. This is my first race and am very excited. Our group has friends whom have rented a RV and have a sweet spot in the infield. I havent spent a night in a rv since i was a kid..........back then they were called campers!!!

Either way my gf, my good friend Tom and I are all excited about the trip. If any of you Phx guys are going to the race I will give you my cell #. Anybody got any tips for my first race? A good :toilet: ..........got it covered!!! LOL

After the race its 4 days in Vegas :rock: .............vacations rock!!!

your gonna dig it Patrick!!..been several times to PIR, miss watching Ernie Irvan run on that track..If i knew you were going, I wouldn't have turned away some tickets..damn ..what turn are you on??..have a kick ass time bud!:rock:

About 1/3 after turn one............I think? We bought the two day tickets so we could get good seats and see around the entire track. Then we found out about the RV and bought infield passes and pit passes!!! Heh what hell, plane tickets were $500 why cheap out on the Nascar tickets!!! LOL

I have been watching Nascar forever..........its about time I saw a race.

your in good shape then..the smell is what I really remember, nothing like it. awesome...oh, lolol...ear plugs or scanner with headset..them sums a bitches ARE LOUD AS HELL!..the small track really amplifies it, TV does NOT do it any justice..your closer to the grand stand side I believe, so you have the benefits of the feel as well..now i'm really sick I passed on those tickets.

Yeah I heard about the earplugs...........43 cars with 800+ HP........it better be loud!!!

I was at a Motley Crue/ Aerosmith concert last year and overhead a guy talking to his buddy......."dont know what was louder Motley Crue or the Nascar race we went too"..... :burnout:

I wonder if the Sat night infield party atomosphere is anything like Taladega's legendary infield parties? LOL Prolly not!!!

You should have a ball. There should be two sound stages with bands at night. they even have a full service grocery store in the motorhome parking area. Check the PIR Website for particulars. I was a track official for PIR for 21 years until last year when I retired. Have fun.

Rodney (McRodney) was nice enough to invite me to the Bud race at Daytona this year.... It was a blast!

Oh, and you don't know the meaning of LOUD, until you've been to one of these. I'm still not a NASCAR fan.... but, it sure was a neat show.
