I have come across a sword with a nazi swastica on it, as well as a "tiger" face with green (emeralds eyes we think) in it. Anybody got any ideas about how to value this sword?

I checked ebay, no luck and then google..... found shitloads of nazi crap, but not a single sword.

Any ideas?

Google WWII memorabilia??? I dunno, have you seen that show on PBS where people bring this guy antique stuff....maybe someone like that could help!

Museums might be your best bet...:)

Ebay banned Nazi items years ago.....

When you find someplace let me know....

I acquired a 14k gold pocket knife that Hitler gave to his generals after they successfully invaded poland....the blade has his signature....:dontknow:

Then some beautiful U.S. badass put a bullet through said shithead and took the knife....:D

Thanks Jeff, thats the best pics I have seen yet. I guess what I am calling a tiger could be a lion. I have an appraiser looking at it now, I was just looking to do some background myself before I decide what to do with it.

My father lived in Germany twice once with my mom before the kids, then another time with all the rugrats. He must have aquired it then. We actually have several swords but this is the only one with the swastica on it. When the appraiser first saw one of the swords, my brother said his eyes bugged out and got all excited. I may just keep it myself, being its a part of history an all.

I would keep it too.

Too much history, is just disappearing. Will be a good conversation piece for the great-grand kids.

Thats what I was thinking. My sister recieved the 5 carot emerald cut diamond ring that was my gramdmas had back in the twenties!!! Its a freaking marble its so big!!! But its family history that must stay in the family, so its value is kinda irrelevent.

Dividing up all my parents stuff is very sad but also serves as a part of carrying on the family history too.

I agree! When my Grandfather passed last year ( He raised me.) i recieved his Golf Clubs and a belt buckle with an indian head coin on it. It might be worth something, but its how I remember him.

He is my Hero.

It's nice to see that some still place more value on memories than a Sotherby's ticket

Thats why I come here.

Something simple can turn a day into a good day

Thank You:D

It shouldn't matter what it's worth as a selling point but a good idea for insurance. We have all of our guns listed on value on a disk at the bank. It's not a bad idea to do something that that. I love researching my family history.
