Need a new laptop Help!

I would stick with a 15" or larger screen. Extended battery life is also a good thing. And the interior designer part of me says don't pick a color that clashes with you truck. But seriously, You'll have to go see what they actually have in stock and pick the brains of the sales person (if they have one) to find the one that meets your needs. Don't forget about Circuit City, Staples and Office Depot/Max type places.

You're probably right bro, i know Best buy has a really good extra warranty like he said, so that may be a good idea also:D

If you use the same logic. His modified truck is more powerful than anything you can buy off the "shelf". His current computer could be too!!:D

DSL, you must be one of those city folks.:D :D
I have to climb the telephone pole where I am.
I'm on satellite.

Right click on your task bar at the bottom of your screen.
Left click on "Task Manager".

Click on the "performance" tab.

What is the number next to "Peak" under commit charge?

What is the number next to "Total" under Physical Memory?

ive had a dell, a compaq, have dealt with a couple diffrent machines this gateway is by far the best. definetly get the waranty stinker!!! i also got the virus protection for a year wich added another 100 bucks on top of it, you also have taxes. so whatever you look at plan on spending about 500 bucks on top of the price tag shown.

I wont pimp my employer but I sell servers for them not PCS. You can get a refurb Dell at a great price and this is the time to buy. I bought two laptops both with core 2 duo procs 1 gig of ram intel wireless trulife 17inch display and paid under $600 each. Saturday morning around 7am central dell.com refurb. You have to beat the ebay re sellers that run macros pulling all the good stuff, It can be done with a little patience.

Damn, That's not it.
You're OK on memory. It might be your connection.
When is it slow?
I just hate to see you buy a new computer and have the same problem if it's your connection.

thats looking good brother spend a little more and get the best available now.
like i said plan on spending about 500 bucks on top of that with the Norton Antivirus, the 3yr waranty and taxes. just do it all so you dont have to worry kind of like the axle group buy. Just helping a brother out!!! but im no genius

Your computer being slow can be anything from a virus to spyware to needing to empty your temporary internet file. If you haven't already done so, run your virus protection program and a spyware eliminator program (Ad-Aware, free download) and clean out your Temporary Internet files. Maybe this will help you regain some lost performance.
