Need a new laptop Help!

I wont pimp my employer but I sell servers for them not PCS. You can get a refurb Dell at a great price and this is the time to buy. I bought two laptops both with core 2 duo procs 1 gig of ram intel wireless trulife 17inch display and paid under $600 each. Saturday morning around 7am central dell.com refurb. You have to beat the ebay re sellers that run macros pulling all the good stuff, It can be done with a little patience.

did I miss it or where to look?

We VA its not really my speed thats bothering me, I hve had hp refurb this one twice, the speed is good, its the screen is going bad and the keyboard is almost shot again, so instead of doing the refurb again, I figured it was time to buy,


I use it constantly in the truck watching for loads and checking with brokers and such, but now since I use my pc phone, it may not see as much use, so it may last a little longer.

But instead of buying a damn ferrari like this one, I figured a good chevette or camaro will do for no more than I use.

Your computer being slow can be anything from a virus to spyware to needing to empty your temporary internet file. If you haven't already done so, run your virus protection program and a spyware eliminator program (Ad-Aware, free download) and clean out your Temporary Internet files. Maybe this will help you regain some lost performance.

yeah now I keep the cookies clean, and virused out constantly and to be honest, about every other day, sometimes daily, we had a desktop that got infected once, and thats all it took, now I stay on top of the mess

The performance of this one is good, actually realy good, just like a horse in the kentucky derby with three legs

Yeah, I saw in your other post that it's the hardware breakin down not the software and internals. Good luck with your search for a new one. I got on a few websites to find a toughbook or rugged laptop which would be great for you to take on the road. They even have liquid proof keyboards etc.. I don't think your going to find such an animal at the "Big Stores".

oooo also if you are going to buy it with the antivirus they need to hold onto it for like an hour to program it in. i bought mine when i was done looking at everything and i was stuck waiting in boredum.

Tony if your looking for stout..I have a Panasonic Toughbook I use for my programming that is like a tank. I have another on the way which is the new IBM Thinkpad, I use to have the Thinkpad several years ago and I watched that damn thing tumble off of the hood of my truck and survive. I have a Dell sitting in my drawer for my project back up, but thats as far as I go with it. Not a big fan of Dells.The one I use at home is the new HP DV8000 series. No complaints, very bad ass, not as rigid though, although it survived Sick tripping and drooling on it all the time. The Barbie laptop is not for sale, sorry.

In my first squadron we had a Panasonic Toughbook fall out of one of our Helicopters at about 20 feet off the deck of a Frigate....Looked like Hell but still worked!:dontknow:

i bought a dell with the 17 in screen it does good kinda slow with all the shit they put on them that you never use internet and solitaire is all i need on it
