Need a riding lawnmower

Well I come here for everything else so I figured I would ask.
I need a rider due to size and slopes. The grade is about 30 degrees so I am figuring 20-25 HP motor. I realize John Deere probably makes the best but I was hoping to hear some positive feedback on cheaper manufacturers like Craftsmen/Husquavarna.

I second silvers post on Simplicity mowers. For a regular non zero turn mower they do the best job. Everyone assumes John Deere is the best, but I can say they provide the worst cut around. For a relatively cheap mower with some nice options available check out the Simplicity Regent series. If you need one with capabilities of a rototiller look at the Conquest or Broadmoor models. I will be purchasing a Regent for my yard.

If you are looking for a zero turn mower look at Ferris, the most popular one we sell is the IS1500, 21 HP with a 48" deck.

Simplicity mowers can be purchased at most Agco or Massey Ferguson tractor dealers. They are the same units just painted different colors.

I've got an old Landlord model Simplicity. I have the rototiller and scrape blade attachments for it. It's only needed regular maintenance.:rock:
 
The landlord is a nice model, that would be similar to a new Broadmoor. We sold a ton of the Landlords. I can say all of them are damn good mowers and when the deck is adjusted properly they have a beautiful cut.
 
OH MY
I was hoping to find a quality mower for around $2,000. The Conquest series starts at $5,400.
I should have said that to start I guess
 
I have had a Craftsman for three years. I bought it because it has big horsepower (I have steep hills!) and it has a 54 inch mower...the widest I could find three years ago...it also is powerful enough to haul loads, spread fertilizer, and pull a deep prong aerator. It has a three gallon gas tank so I can do my 1.5 acres of lawn in about two hours.

Saw that and my only concern is when you buy the cheapest of even the best brand, it isnt their best. Would you think that model could handle the steep slopes. Dont get me wrong, you get what you pay for and I dont want to spend $1500 and get a POS but if I can find something that will get me 5 years and not break the wallet that is the way I have to go, not want to go

I can't speak for the Regent itself. I've been riding my Landlord for 12 years and my brother-in-law is still using the Broadmoor that I owned before I bought the Landlord. The Broadmoor was the base model when I bought it and it's still going strong. So I think the quality run through their entire line. Is it enough machine to handle your situation? You'll have to check it out and make that assessment. Good luck.

I have a great push mower for the front yard:D
Whats up with your wheel man, does he have any in stock yet to do a trade out?
 
no trade outs yet bo, he has been a little proccupied with a hood;)

but here is your answer bud, buy a push mower, and pay the kids next door to mow the grass, at $25 a week and what 30 weeks out of the year, you are only out $750 bucks,,and never had to get off the couch:D
