So I decided I want eyebrows on my lights and figured the best way is to paint them for an 05 since they aren't made. I plan on taking the light off and scuffing the part I'm painting with a scotch bright or similar so the paint will adhere. The lens is clear so I figure I should either use several coats of the silver or use a darker color as the base coat and then painting the silver over that. What would you suggest? Also I was told by dodge that ws2 and ps2 are the same paint...bright metallic silver?
Thanks

I think F#%*in Bill ( Begood )could answer that for you, He did it quite some time ago.

Quick note,

U will have to use more than scotch brite. There is a clear on the lenses that need to be taken off.

Not fun. I made the mistake of using the nite shades on them before all the celar was off. It wrinkled the nite shade. So now i have to sand the nite shades off AND the rest of the clear. Then reshoot it all and clear.

It just takes some patience and elbow work.

Good Luck

thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll need super fine sandpaper.

NOPE thats what i tried the first time. I left too much of the original clear on. If u want a pic of what happened to mine let me know. It shows the wrinkling and then i took some dneatured alchohol to them and you see the clear all messy white on the lens.

Start w like a 600-800

Get off most with that.

Then go to like 1000. Clean with a thinner, denatured alchohol, etc.

Tape off.

Paint your eyebrows.

Untape.

Clear all.

Put a couple coats of paint on and a couple coats of clear.

U may need to take 1500 wet sand, then compound buff, swirl remover, then wax should make them as clear as glass.

I had mine done by a professional painter. And what he did was use a special primer that bonds to the headlight lense. Then he was able to use a paint primer, then color, then clear coat. They were done almost a year ago, and still look great.

Bill.

Scuff it with 800 wet then use Bulldog adhesion promoter then paint till covered. Don't reduce the paint too much or it will be hard to cover.

pretty much what he said

u should sand the whole light cover with 800 wet

once u tape the "eyebrows" up how u want them then paint them and once it dries slowly take the tape of then clear over te whole light

if u dont clear the whole light or only sand where the paint it gonna be it will chip off on the ends

clear over the whole light it sthe best way to go man truct me :)
