Okay. I bought a really great truck, but have been stopped 3 times by cops for no inspection. I live in NJ and bought the truck in Florida. Well in Fla they dont have inspection and the windows are all tinted really dark. It WONT Pass inspection in Jersey and have to get it inspected eventually. Any ideas what to do.

Probably take it off is the only option. I have a medical waiver for extra dark tint, but I still get stopped.I have to show my registration with "Window Tint" on it.Not sure if you have that there, but even with it,you can only legally go so dark.

In the state of N.J.our truck qualify for collector car inspection. This is what i have on my truck. What this means i dont have to go through emmisions or a saftey check. The only draw back is your limited on your milage. The cops should not give you a hard time if you have this sticker.IT looks just like a N.J. inspection sticker only its triangle shaped and says collector car on it.

Good information, wish Tennessee was like that.

Just leave your windows down when you take it in. They might not even check.

Im looking for the right private facility. If I go and fail then its on record and I then I have to de-tint the window. I am NOT going to take tint off, It looks TOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!

If all else fails and you do have to take it off- There's a shop I went to in Parsipanny, NJ(route 46)- <edited> they even did my windshield....

Edited by RedSrt007 - PM him for shop info (dont want to get you or the shop in trouble)

Well I got it inspected finally today and I failed. But guess for what?
Not the tinting. It so happened that today I installed the custom grills and the lightup viper engine start button. So reading a thread on here, which said to disconnect the negative on battery to make sure the air bags dont go off. So I disconnected battery and installed the viper button(what a pain in the ass), and everything went okay. Then I tool it to inspect and it seems that me disconnecting the battery erased all the emissions, fuel, etc. from the computer. So he couldnt read it. I never heard of that. But oh well, he said to drive it a hundred miles or so and the computer would reset itself and then bring it back for a pass sticker. I guess all the worrying was for nothin.
:)
