we want to purchase a vehicle for our daughter, but don't know if it is legit:dontknow: seller is in the armed forces and claims he is deploying on the 12th of this month for afghanistan, therefore the low price for a quick sale. we offered to go look at it but he claims he can't leave the base to meet us face to face. we are purchasing it through e-bay agent, but how do i know i'm not transfering the money to some con in nigeria? he says he has e-bay and a shipper taking care of everything (shipped door to door on his nickel). agent has a bank of america account. they want to hold the money for us until we can check the vehicle out, and then transfer to the seller, which i guess is the normal procedure, but how do i know agent is legit,i need a third party to check him out:dontknow: i have never purchased a vehicle on e-bay any advise would be appreciated. i did check out the car on carfax, (all good)but that doesn't neccesarily mean he has this vehicle....or does it?

Can you post up a link to the ebay ad?
this is another problem i have with this.....it was originally on craig's list (this is how my daughter found it) he said if we wanted it he would put it on e-bay and just click the "buy now button". as soon as he said it was on e-bay i tried to find it,but couldn't. we contacted him about that, and he said it was just posted on e-bay for the seller/buyer (not for public viewing). he says he is going through e-bay to protect his interests.

Thats a scam, the picture that they have is from a very large used car dealer in tx. I regonise the hanger used for the photo. I surf ebay all day and see alot of those pictures from that dealer, its a scam bro.

is it possible for someone to run a VIN # and find out who the owner is?

This is a scam:mad: A thread was posted on a "Cheap SRT10" for sale on Craigslist and some people emailed the guy. Got back almost the exact same responses from the guy you got word for word.. Do not just walk away from this guy... RUN:D

Since this alleged Tahoe deal is from Houston Craig’s List, I can go and take a look at it for you 'Chobe. But I really do not believe this is legit. He's using this military story as a smoke screen to offer you a false sense of his integrity. And what's this, "I announce you that everything is prepared.”? That’s proper grammar of an American soldier? If the guy wants to sell then why not just put it on eBay normally so that more eyes see it and it'll get sold quicker? And why in the FFF does he need an agent? And why in the FFF does your upper radiator hardpipe look 'urnge instead of red? Why am I asking so many damn questions?

major scam ,,any time they claim to hold the money in some account till you receive car and/or inspect it its a scam ,,tell him you are coming to houston to see this vehical and inspect it and see how he starts backing up like a crawdad:p

Another vote for scam......... Anybody who's selling a vehicle that makes it difficult for you, (or any one) to inspect, is shady. I also agree with Antnee about the grammar, WTF?

Also that is not how LT Colonel addresses there name also he did not add his company only regiment and BN scam all the way. ANother thing get Big worm to see if that is even a legit person. Sorry but col's dont need to sell shit quickly like us po folks. DONT DO IT>
