I removed my ram head off the steering wheel to put on the viper badge. I used 2 flat head screw drivers and worked my way around the emblem until it poped off. I had the battery dissconnected while i did this, when i went to put the battery cable back on the horn goes off like its in full alarm. Starts off just honk, honk, honk then just goes into a straight honk. Any help guys what the problem might be? Thanks in advance

From my understanding there are some pressure washers on the inside,Try turning the steering wheel back and forth,Maybe you can get them to slide down.

I tried moving the wheel around, and nothing. I do hear little things rattleing around in the wheel now tho. Any way of taking the horn cover off to get thoes out?

I believe you may have to take the steering wheel apart to get to those pieces ...YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFUL of the AIR BAG GOING OFF From what I have read and heard ..

Yes be careful, dissarm the airbag. It will bust your lips open.:D

If you quarter turn the wheel you will find a hole that has a 10 mm socket size screw from the back. 2 places . So turn the wheel left then right to remove the screws from the bottom of the column. Disconnect the battery first. Disconnect the airbag and the horn connector. That should release the air bag from the clock spring. That will get the airbag off. You will need to figure out what is wrong from there. I havn't gone inside the airbag yet....

Ok, well the thing is its in full alarm. The lights flash and everything. I'll have to try these things. Where can i disconnect the air bag?

After you disconnect the battery you have to wait for two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before you start messing with the air bag. Like Norbert said, two screws and three wire connections on the backside of the bag.

I know it's an old thread, but has this problem been fixed? I haven't had a working horn for a few years now. I am thinking of just cutting the wires and hooking it up to a new switch.

clock spring...its basically the moving wire connection between the wheel and the colum...know to fail...
