Anyone know how to adjust the steering box on a '67 Vette? :dontknow:  It's a little sloppy, and I was going to play around with it to see if I can make it any better. I posted a pic of what I'm looking at..... I think the adjustment is that screw on the top of the box, but how/which way do I turn it to tighten the worm-gear? :dontknow:

Any help would be appreciated.... thanks! :D

Yes old Blacky, That is it , loosen the nut, adjust srcew, Leave a little slop so you don't mess up the sector and bearings:D :D
Looks like you have lots left to adjust, thet are usually worn out if the screw is flush with the nut

Yeup! I would adjust it just a little bit, (No more than a full turn) then see how it feels, if it's not enough, try again. Should be adjusted with a Clock-Wise turn.

After about 2 full turns, go with smaller turns, like half or less.

Good luck, let us know!

or just pull everything add a ls-7 and c-5 suspension.....:D

I put my '66 vette up on the sidewalk...backwards... on Wishire Blvd (8 lanes total)...becuase of that sloppy steering...and because the 427 was too loud to hear that the tires were spinning....:D ...little 205 tires at that.....

AH! Didn't know you had one before this one. :dontknow:  Was it a 427 or 396? 4-speed? Color? ....... PICTURES? :D :p :)

I love mine (ours) more and more every time I drive it. It's SOOO simple to work on, and CHEAP (relatively) to buy parts for! I just went for a cruise down A1A about an hour ago. NOTHING beats cruisin' at night in a old 'vert Corvette.

How are you liking your GS? It's been your daily driver, hasn't it?

EDIT: Noticed you said 427.... Cool, Dude! I heard they were a BITCH to keep runnin' tho. :dontknow:

He looks at me and turns right...hits gas,,,then back end completely swings out and goes all the way around up onto curb:D :D :D
