Hey Y'all,

As you may know, I'm looking into a career change. My most marketable skills are that of a counselor/sales rep. I've been in sales- mostly in healthcare and related fields for about 15 years.... I've also worked in the domestic water industry for some time... 10-12 yrs there....

My motto is "meet the needs- the money will take care of itself"....

I'm considering making a change in industry. I've been looking at the most recession proof fields I could find and debt settlement came up as an opportunity... The company with whom I am in conversation is here in Oceanside and they have a BBB rating of A-, which (from what I hear) is an excellent rating for this industry. I spoke to them on the phone and didn't feel as if I needed to take a shower afterwards. In fact, they seemed like a very straightforward bunch'a guys....

Does anyone have any input or admonition regarding this arena of business or any experience that would help me to gain greater insight into this industry....?

Any constructive and useful edification would be appreciated....

Any useless, rancorous or rhetorical comments are uneccesary and subject to disregard.:aetsch:

Thanks, Y'all........

There are a lot of NON-PROFIT Dept Settlment/Consolidation companies out there. These are usually the best to deal with.... If the company is "For-Profit", they have to get that profit from somewhere (ie-the very customer they are trying to get outta debt). Other than that.... :dontknow:

Hope they give you a great opportunity, my friend! :)

It's 4% of the customers indebtedness. They don't take anyone under 10g's.... Most people are about 30g in debt...........

It's debt settlement....... debt consolidation is like a second mortgage or refi....

From what I've heard, the non-profit companies have a deal with the creditors, which seemingly makes them even more dishonest to operate as if they're a charity..... They make money. They just don't get it from the customer.
