So now I have everything I need to detail out the car. Just a few basic questions left.

What pads should I buy at autozone/home depot to do the polish/wax with the porter cable? Do I need any sort of back pad or new attachments?

What speed do I want to have the porter cable on for polish/wax?

Is 1 coat of each enough?

Just had major surgery on a finger today and damm darvocet will make tomorrow a lot more fun.

I am going to follow the guide that was posted a few months a go and have the whole day allocated for it.

use the www.properautocare.com methods, they're best. here's the basics as I understand it:

always clay bar your vehicle first if you haven't done it recently or ever, it takes the contaminants out of the paint that you would otherwise wax into the paint.

before waxing use a polish. a polish is a very gentle abrasive that removes swirl marks and such, bringing the top layer of paint (the clear) to an even finish.

after the polish, use a quality wax to seal in the nice even finish, and if you feel so inclined use a glaze to make it look even better.
