Need Prayers

Well, we had a bad night, and the last 36 hours has been a bitch trying to get her pain under control... but I think we got it....... had a good morning despite getting to sleep at 3:30... nothing like a sponge bath... and a dressing shange...:D
She can finally sit back in a chair...woo hoo... best she could do was sit on the edge of a chair for a minute or two...then she had to move.

In the grand scheme of things... things are going well.... she has run no fevers, the suture site looks great, no redness or irritation, she's up and walking around the house, with a good appetite.

On a side note Steve...Have a Wonderful Christmas, and a Happy New Year.... I can only hope we get the opportunity to spend another awesome weekend together this next year!
Your a hell of a good man bro... Spousal unit as well... we had a blast in Houston...and after that weekend .. there was no doubt in our minds that your heart is as big as Texas!

That's great news, Ken. Give her a peck on the cheek from us, when she's better a full blown kiss. I hope the Holidays continue to bring improvment and joy for you guys. We will see you somewhere/somehow this year, count on that...

Well she had a scare last night at 2am....she got me up out of a dead sleep....thought she was leaking spinal fluid...again.
Sucker was runnin pretty good I might add...
Thank God that's not the case. Doc irrigated her out on the second operation (because of the prior spinal fluid leak) with 3 liters... so were watching it...so far...so good.
She's now on precautionary antibiotics, and we got her pain managed. She still has a hell of a time transitioning from sitting to standing, supine to sitting, and walks pretty guarded...
On a lighter note... we have had a few chuckles at her expense today...and it hurt's when she laughs... but it's a laugh nonetheless.

Couple of more day's and I think were past the worst of it. I'm hopeful

Ken...I thought this was the prayer thread and didn't pay attention too much since I had told you your family was in my families prayers...Man, I'm sooo sorry I didn't pay attention!!!!!! Morning...been a long week...just got off duty at the Firehouse...wat a brutal shift.... started at 07:50 and we ran steady till this morning at 07:00.... ended up with 16 calls for the shift...
The Mrs's can finally beat a turtle in a dead heat race...and is improving slowly...but improving nonetheless.

Glad to hear Dawn is doing better. Sounds like the threat of anymore spinal fluid leaks is behind you and that has to be good news.

Dawn is moving faster eh? Well she will be able to out run you soon, so you better use the speed advantage in the best way possible while you can!

Glad to "hear" in your posts that you are less worried about her!

Well... not a good day...and I figure I would update this thread..as I do not want to "ho" up the others....

Physical Therapy was no good today...and Dawn is aching pretty bad. They were really unable to work with her.

Exhausted and tired...one hour sleep a night, and bad back spasms...brutal to hear the screams:( at night....not sure if there is anything else we can do except be patient with the recovery... We have an appointment with the MD tomorrow...so we will see where we go from here.

Unfortunatly...she is going to have to tackle a lot of this on her own...it will be the hardest thing she will have ever had to do physically...and it's wearing her spirit..at the moment...I am not one to "baby"...and she knows it.
Working 24 hour shifts(one of us needs to work) leaves her to fend for herself most of the day... we have great friends to help out....but I still feel bad she has to be on her own for the majority of the 24 hours.

Frankly...I thought she would have progressed better than this...but not such the case...going to be a long recovery I'm afraid... I anticipate her out of work till March.:(

Thank's everyone for the continued prayers and support...
It's wearing us both down. I am having a tough time keeping up with it all.
 
Well, damn Ken I was going to send you a note today and ask about her. Lauri's been bugging me to get a status. Sorry to hear it's not going well and she's having a tough time. Is there anything other than prayers you need?
 
Really sad to hear it's not going as well as you would hope Ken.

Let's just pray that this is just a momentary setback and things will pick up from this point on.

We're still keeping you and Dawn in our prayers.
