I am in the final stage of installing Boomers newest shifter, and I was wondering if bolts are included to attach the shifter handle to the base.I looked in the box but found nothing to attach the handle.Does any one know if were suppose to buy the 3 bolts ourself or perhaps they didnt get tossed in the shipment.Any info tonight would be great since my truck is still partially disassembled. Thanks! Bill

Thanks anyway guys.Im calling it a night and i will PM Boomer tommorrow and see if he can tell me what size and thread pattern i need.I just wanted to drive it to work in the morning abd see the difference.:( It will just have to wait. Thanks again though.:)

You are missing 2 bolts!! Mine came with them screwed into the base stick with washers!!

You can probably pick 2 up at a auto parts store. Call them for the right size!!

Take two bolts off the Hurst shifter, they should be the same size. They both hook-up the same way...
(i.e. handle of the Hurst has two bolts that hold it on.)

Quik-Fix,

Quick

That was the first thing I tried to do, but the hurst has a collar that is totally different in the way it holds the handle to the base. Thanks for the info though. Bill

I have not received the Gen IV shifter yet, so I don't know, but my Ripper shifter came with the bolts. Call one of Boomer's employees, they should be able to give you the size.

Bill.

Thamks! I am gonna call right now.

just got this man. the shifter lever bolts are 3/8 x 16 bolts. they should have been screwed to the shifter base with 2 washers under them. if not, i will send you some, we suplly stainless ones, but you can get some 3/8-16 bolts about 1 1/2 long. i dont know how i screwed that up, i was the one who package all of them and shipped them. it might have got past me. i am very sorry for the inconvience. my phone went dead yesterday, and i just realized it this morning. its charging now, and if you need me for anything it should be up & working in an hour

Thanks bro for the super fast service.(I just called about an hour ago and left a message.)Yeah there were no bolts on the base except for the allen head ones that mount to the tranny.Im gonna go to Napa today and see if they have em.Ill let you know if i find them or not. Bill

When he gave you the size 3/8-16, the 16 is the thread size.

OOPS! I guess i showed a little bit of mechanical ignorance.
Thanks!
left ya a message at your work, the other number i got no answer. any hardware, or nut/bolt supplier will have that, its the most common bolt size on the planet. just use 2 washers under them. i will ship you some with your mirrors bub.

Thanks bro.Just finished getting it installed and it seems a hell of a lot more precise . :D Not spongy like the stocker. The only thing I am curious about is it seems that there is more travel in to 1st, 3rd and 5th gears as opposed to 2nd 4th and 6th.It actually popped out of second a couple of times.I guess i need to test drive more tommorrow and learn how to shift with it.The shifter is one beautifully crafted piece of engineering.Great job! I will keep you posted . Bill
