Need shock help

I bought a 2005 Quad Cab Srt 10 about a year ago and was told by the dealer that the shocks are going bad. They want over a grand to replace them with stock shocks. What are my options for upgrades? I haven't lowered the truck and am not planning to.

Bro. go to a parts store buy the shocks that the book calls for and change them,you will only be out $200.00 bucks.

Have you did a search online I'm sure you will find them much cheaper, I pulled all of mine off when I lowered the truck, If they compress very easy 9 out of 10 times they are shot. Mine were still tight and had no slop.
