Need some advice from QC owners

in my experience....when you down shift too aggressively...if the rev limiter allows it...it will be the back tires that will break loose to release the energy....not the motor or drivetrain...in a viper you can do this daily....:D

Gotcha, one more reason why I love these trucks so much. Some G-tech runs are probably going to be in session just to make sure everything is running alright.

Few questions:

What are the QC supposed to be putting down RWHP and RWTQ wise stock?

And sometimes when going certain speeds, is it normal for the kickdown gear to be so short when WOT?

stock With that crappy detuned computer your looking at about 390-405 Hp, and 420-440ftlb.

yeah...the trans will get jumpy sometimes on the kickdown....that is why if I am already in 4th..I hit tow haul for the downshift then floor it...

These trucks can take abuse. They don't need to babied and the electronics wouldn't allow a down shift if it would harm the mechanicals in any way. Many times I down shift into second while I am going too fast to allow it, hit the brakes, and wait for the electronics to allow the downshift. I don't think there is any downshift that would hurt your truck with the auto tranny.

I come out of tow/haula$$ at 120.
Flashed redline is about 5900 RPM.
VEC cutoff is 6250 right now.

Is the stock Viper crank forged?
Yes

Thanks for the replies guys, I would think that there is some kind of safety device that should prevent it from any serious damage.

I just can't stop thinking that putting it in tow/haul mode at 110 going WOT can't be good at all, and something is probably damaged, hopefully not the engine. Would really suck to damage the engine of your dream truck over an honest mistake of forgetfullness.

Hey, don't worry.... it wasn't your dream truck anyway!;)

:D:D:D:D

My transmission shifts funny all the time. Especially when it gets hot.

mine must not be shifting at the same rpm as yours, as mine shifts to 4th at 110. (I use this as my speed gauge sometimes - if I hit 4th I'm going way too fast!)

Hmm, I hit close to 120 and bumped the rev limit when in tow mode too. Then just pushed the button and it kept going. The tranny is tough, and the electronics will help prevent problems.
