Need some advice on buying a untested part!

Ok so so of you have seen these on the other forum but this is the deal....These headers were made for McLaren 1 of 2 ever made for a pair of viper race trucks that never were finished. Anyway my concerns are with 1. the collectors. It looks like since there are no bolt holes for it and more of a lip and the end of the headers they used some sort of coupling with a special designed collector to mate up to the header. Next is the bulge of that the the lest side cylinders 5&7 piping makes.... Looks like this stick out more than any header that I've ever seen....The other oddity is the end of the right header that would connect to the collector is flared to the right! And lastly the header opening connecting to the collector is 3 3/4'' wide.....aren't B&B's only 3"?

So after all this do yall think they would work? I would like to have something different that were free flowing and the only header that i wanted was the B&B but these do look cool and are different! But no need to get them if they don't fit:dontknow:

Risky proposition man, id stay skeptical, and to move on. On the other hand if the little lady holding the headers comes with the deal it might be worth the risk! Whohahahaha!

I don't see it so you may be seeing things with as late as it is there for you

Risky. A good muffler man with the right equipment could probably work with them. Would have to be CHEAP.

What do yall see as a fix for the end of the header where the collector would mount to? This header seemed to use some kind of coupling....

cylinder 3 and 4 the flanges look out of line....

ok i think i see what yall are talking about now...you mean how the pipes dont seem to come as far forward as the others ones like if the rear pipes were touching the head the front too would have about a inch or too gap away from the head?

i guess i'll say this...i wouldn't give him anything, unless i drove up there myself...removed my inner fender liners, and installed those headers on my truck....the money he's asking is high, no dount...but for what they are...it might be worth it to some...

Yea im actually from Detroit and go up there all the time but im still deployed and won't be back for awhile...I think I might pass and just get some B&B's depending on what Tony tells me when I talk to him

gonna have to agree with Dan on this one bud, they may work , but they are one offs supposedly for a race truck,
the collector you will have to cut off and weld on a new deal, then probably make your own mids to fit these headers, they are no where close to bellangers or billy boats,
plus they dotn really look like they will fit the autos, they pull in too tight at the bottom, the qcs have an ear on the tranny that gets in the way.

to me I would get them for about $500 otherwise some unlucky person is gonna end up buing a headache I think

trust me bo, I agree, they def aint cheap, but I think with these, unless he is wiling to part for less than a grand I would leave them be, 50/50 chance here, they may fit, they may be ahuge pain the arse, untested unproven parts are a gamble, and I jsut aint totaly sure of the guy also
but had a call from bellanger the other day, let me get with him after the holidays, maybe something good will come thru

it's my understanding that yes, they are the "same"...this was an R&D project...
