Need some advice on buying a untested part!

They are slip fit style race headers which is why the flanges dont necessarily line up in the pics (collectors bolt on with tabs only on some of the tubes, not a welded collector). I wouldnt think twice for a RC, the merge collectors alone are probably $800+ for a set, and McLaren isnt going to build something that doesnt work. I bet someone paid $5K+ for those, they are beautiful!!

Ok so so of you have seen these on the other forum but this is the deal....These headers were made for McLaren 1 of 2 ever made for a pair of viper race trucks that never were finished. Anyway my concerns are with 1. the collectors. It looks like since there are no bolt holes for it and more of a lip and the end of the headers they used some sort of coupling with a special designed collector to mate up to the header. Next is the bulge of that the the lest side cylinders 5&7 piping makes.... Looks like this stick out more than any header that I've ever seen....The other oddity is the end of the right header that would connect to the collector is flared to the right! And lastly the header opening connecting to the collector is 3 3/4'' wide.....aren't B&B's only 3"?

So after all this do yall think they would work? I would like to have something different that were free flowing and the only header that i wanted was the B&B but these do look cool and are different! But no need to get them if they don't fit:dontknow:

Oh and no the girl doesn't come with them! :D

i'm goin to bet that the collector flanges are for V-clamp set up.

the best kind;)

wonder if they are equal length????:dontknow: :dontknow:

and they still aint worth what he is asking 9k or maybe 2k , they jsut aint worth the money, and they are more than likely custom fit for a race rc, take your chances when you guy one off stuff;)

Yea all he has is the headers.....nothing else to make it fit! He hasn't responded back to my email but im sure that I will just pass as I don't want to deal with the headache of making these fit my qc......Would be the shit to say you have the only header made though!

Would definitly be nice to have a one off , but some things you have to consider
it they were made for a race truck what other modifications did they make in certain areas? there could be some way the headers are ran that will make things a big pain.
McLaren does tremendously great work, the best in the world , but they may have moved things around a bit , and that may be why some of the pipes dont look just right.
not saying it would be a cool beans deal, but I would rather see anyone pick up a used set or something they they "know" for certian that will work
you may get these and have to spend $500-$1500 to actually make them work correctly, and that money could be transfered elsewhere

now if he offered them at a killer deal or with a certainty that they def will fit with absolutely no problems that is a little different:D

ok i think i see what yall are talking about now...you mean how the pipes dont seem to come as far forward as the others ones like if the rear pipes were touching the head the front too would have about a inch or too gap away from the head?

What I noticed on pic #3 it that theses are a two piece headers and I would guess that two of them are missing the bolt and they have spun a little bit:dontknow:
