Ok, so I installed a centerforce clutch about 10,000 miles ago. Until just recently it was working great, but now it's a pain in the ass to get it in reverse. I've been told that my problem is that the clutch is dragging. I'm not all that familiar with that term, so what does that mean exactly:dontknow:

I see that some of you with the upgraded clutch kit have used shims. What gets shimmed? Also, could the slave cylander be my problem? Any word from the wise would be appreciated.

awww yes, the infamous clutch problem :)

If it Just reverse of all gears (when at a stoplight, and you put you foot on the clutch, can you put it in 1st, 2nd, etc... or just not reverse?)

If its ONLY reverse, and everything else is fine, probably not a hydraulic issue. Would check a few things like reverse solenoid, shifter, transmission, etc.

Actualy, all gears are a lot tougher to get in to. But reverse is the hardest to engage.

If its all the gears, then more then likely a hydraulic issue. Did you replace your master / slave?? If not, that's going to need to be your next move. The factory plastic hydraulics (read slave) are too weak for the additional pressure the pressure plate fingers require; causing disengagement issues. If you have the aluminum (srt-10 car) hydraulics, then it appears your not shimmed correctly, or air / bleeding could be an issue.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'm going to have to look into getting the "car" parts.

Contact X-Metal or Roe Racing...both will be happy to help.

...................It's the clutch hydraulics system.......replace it......It sucks....

You need the upgrade from the Viper GTS coupe......and re-route the clutchlines too...too much heat....

Before going through all that I'd suggest you burp the clutch and make sure you don't have any air in there. I had the same problem before I replaced to the GTS slave and master, and it was just a couple bubbles.
