Hi there, a newbie question, but just to know if i'm right.....

If you change air filter, and catback exhaust, you've to flash your PCM ?

or the PCM "feel" the new situation, and change the data automatically ??

thanks for your support.

Andrea

No need to reflash for a catback and filter swap. But, you might want to anyway, it will make a difference in the way the truck runs, all for the better.

I would disconnect the battery to reset the PCM, let it sit for 10-20 min, then drive away!! That will get rid of any adaptive memory and can relearn the new mods

Should have thought of that myself. One thing I learned is after reconnecting it, let it idle for 5 minutes with the AC off, then another 5 with the AC on. I was having some stalling issues and Dan from DC recommended that, never had a problem since.

I am going to have to try that...my truck has stalled 3 times since I installed the new PCM.

Thanks all for the reply, I'll desconnect battery, make mods, and then I'll let it idle for 5 min. w/o AC and than other 5 min. with AC on. :top:
