I have been in touch with Boomer and I have talked with him about his lowering kit. He is a great guy. I think I am going to get his lowering kit.

I am looking at getting everything from Boomer. Here is what I am thinking about. Lowering Kit, Cat Delete Pipes, Magnaflow Cat Back, K&N CAI, his PCM Stage 2 Flash tuned to my Mods and 93 Octane, and maybe Bassani shorty headers. I just can't make up my mind on the headers? I don't know if I should wait and save up for long tube or get these now? Maybe just forget about headers until I do a serious mod like a Paxton, Twin Screw or Striker Heads?

Is there any other mods for around a thousand that is worth the money instead of shorty headers? What about Boomer's Throttle Body? Does anybody do intake work? Could you get a tune to run on higher Octane than 93 that would be a performance increase? I run around 102 octane in my race boat but I have tighter than stock heads and it is a two stroke outboard.

My goal is to be around 470 RWHP on my QC for right now.

Any more advice greatly appreciated. I have been reading and searching both SRT-10 sites like crazy. I see there is a wide range of opinions on headers?????? :dontknow:

When I had the Stage 2 flash/Borla without rear cats/K&N I was 438.5 RWHP. Losing the front cats will gain you a little more. I would hold off on the headers. You can tune for higher octane but I think you might need a VEC2 to do better timing unless they can tune with the flash. I say get the flash but leave the timing stock and get the VEC2 to do all your tuning. You could have different tune cards for race gas and 93 oct.

Well opions being like assholes and all....:D

I have to disagree on the VEC.....Boomer can add timing to your flash for whatever octane you are going to run....It takes 30 seconds to add timing to my flash via a laptop..

Headers are alot of $$ for 15 or so rwhp....skip them until you go with heads and then do the long tubes...

You have a great start to your mods...Caltracs for $400 are a huge help and quite the hop in the rear suspension....

Welcome to the madness...

I love the madness already! I am financing my mods so when I pick up the truck next week I can do mods right away. I just can't afford the next level like the Paxton or Heads.

Boomer is saying the headers are good to do with the overall package and I will be in my target RWHP range. He also said his throttle body won't be ready for a couple months.

I have seen pics of a ported throttle body. Any numbers on that yet? Who can do the porting that knows what it takes. I know a novice like me can't just start grinding away material.

Keep the opinions coming. I enjoy reading them all! :D

If you can afford the headers and want to gain that small increase go for it. For the money you dont get much with headers. The real power increase is from loosing the cats. Dont get me wrong, headers are cool looking and the sound is awesome, they just are expensive thats all.

Welcome to this wonderful madness dude!! LOL

What about Gibson Headers compared to Bassani Headers. :dontknow: I have read that the Gibson's give more low end torq? I have seen Ceramic Coated Gibsons for sale for a couple hundred less than Bassani's.

You're right on track with your list of mods and objectives, I'd defintely do the headers. Oh and Boomer's been saying his throttle body is coming out soon...forever...:p ;) :D
