Hey guys, it's time I put some serious sound in the truck...I am going with (2) Alpine Type R 12" and a Kenwood amp (haven't decided just yet). But my question is, what head units do you guys run? Single or double din? Opinions, reviews? Ease of replacement? And I'd like to keep the head unit under $300, but I would like a screen...either a flip out, or a small double bezel screen. What do you guys have? Thanks!!

Kenwood head unit here. Avh 5600. Is a 7" double din and can be had off ebay for $340 on a good day. Full touchscreen. Plays high def DVD, Sirius xm, digital radio, and Bluetooth/iPhone connectivity. Do yourself a favor, with those two subs, run an alpine MRX-240. 2400W RMS from the amp, and alpine a amazing clarity all in one package. Sound quality will be much better than a kenwood amp, and it'll probably hit harder.

Awesome, I will look into that for sure! Thanks! How about install? Easy? Connectors/adapters?

I paid an audio shop $150 to do the whole install including the $30 for connectors and the $80 part to retain steering wheel controls. Took them about an hour. I verified the costs of their parts online.
