Went to Atco Raceway today - Absolutely Beautiful day, nothing but blue sky and sunshine at the end of November, so I find it difficult to 'complain' that it was almost too warm in the mid 60's. What can ya do?:dontknow:

Anyway, got some good news, and some bad news.

The bad news first - I lost to a Lightning today on my last run.:( I tried to launch at 4,000rpms and it was just a bit too much for the track today. I spun off the line to a less than stellar 2.19 60', and ran a 12.998 to his 12.839 (1.944 60'). Though, I did run a new best MPH here at 109.97 to his 107.05. IF I launched better, I would've won, but I'll take the loss. He beat me fair and square that time. Talked to him afterwards. Cool guy - I'd run him again anytime!

Now the good news - I won against another Lightning today AND managed to run a new best, though not as good as I was expecting. I launched at around ~3,500rpms on this run, pulled a 1.88 60' to the L's 1.99, and beat him to the big end with a 12.742/109.35 to his 12.917/107.39. :D

Honestly, I thought my truck would do 110mph easily,,, but it didn't happen. I know these headers and mid's added some decent power. I mean, I could feel the extra power the day they were installed! I just think it was a bit on the warm side today, and that's always gonna cost some power. I'd really like to go back again when the temps are in the low 50's or so - I hope we get the chance this year. Atco is open on Saturday's for a couple more weeks!:)

Got 7 runs in total. Missed 3rd a couple times. Spun off the line twice. Had 4 runs in the 12's, a 13.01, a 13.20, and a totally f'd up 13.67 run(red lighted, bogged, AND missed a gear on this run...:p:dontknow::confused: ). My last run is when I lost to the L, but got my best MPH at 109.97 - sun was going down and it was cooling off! Only makes me want to go back again when the temps are lower!!

All in all - excellent day! Can't wait to do it again! :D  :D :burnout:

sucks u lost to a L, but congrats on your new time!!!!

Thats excellent Mike. Who cares about losing to a L. What matters is your stoked and your truck hauled ass!!! This cold weather just rules for our trucks. Running at 80`+ on Maui....... its tough to get those 12's. Ever notice how the fastest runs (NA engines) are when its cold. Now how come your missed third? Dont you have Boomers latest shifter?

Great runs, we need to get everyone in the northeast together for a track meet, maybe we can rent the track for the day?

Yep - I have the GenIV, but it's no guarantee. There is no guarantee!:p I've completely given up on powershifting 3rd(at least until I get the clutch upgrade), so I just shift as fast as I can, but I still have the natural tendency to shift up and to the right when going for 3rd. It ain't there anymore! To be honest, I'm thinking of putting the old X-Metal shifter back in - never missed 3rd with that one. I just have this (normal) fear of going back into 1st at WOT! To be fair, I'll keep this one for a while and attempt to get used to it.

Anyway, here's some pics of me and my bud in his Viper from yesterday:

(BTW, on that 3rd pic of me and the Viper - He missed 3rd - I won.:D )

I hear ya Mike. I really dig my gen 1 shifter. It has not failed me at all. Of course I have yet to even try powershifting and probably never will. That WOT opps into first really sucks!!!

When you upgrade your clutch......................wow, your really gonna get even faster times!!
