Brat, i finished tooling the center, still have a little touch up to do, but done for the most part. i am downloading some lettering and will probably continue tomorrow night. this is how she is looking so far

That sounds like fun. There is defiently alot of space around here to tear it up in a 4x4 and lots of open roads to open up the truck too.muttvipertruck said:

Brat, finished the dying process, tried something new that the guy at tandy told me to do. I am not happy with the results at all. the problem i am having is coming up with a red dye that is as bright as the paint on your truck. Most of the red dyes are too dark. I will bring this one with me on Saturday and show you what i am talking about. Of course you can have this one, but i am going to do another for you as well.

Well the trick to brighter colors can be as simple as contrast; just adding black background to it which will make it pop more. Using an airbrush can help too but it takes practice. But the sky's the limit when you use acrylics. You can't really use them over a dyed surface though, it'll probably flake off over time if you dont paint the untreated undyed leather surface

azmal thanks for the info...i will try some contrast on hauling's piece cause that is a 2 color one... brat, you can have this one no problem, but once i get a little better i would like to make you another one. see ya on saturday.

i am new to this site, but where i come from you dont capitalize on friends or family, and it seems like that what everyone here is...friends and family. I will do one for anyone who wants one, all i ask is that the leather gets bought...i will supply the dye, sheen etc.
