new clutch damn the Centerforce

We just got this from Spec and will be installing it as soon as possible today. anyway just another alternative to the CF and ACT. This clutch will handle 1000 ftlbs of Tq. enjoy....

also i would like to now who all would be intersted in a handheld SCT tuner the initial cost will be far less then the B&G and will have a lot more tuning areas.... send me a PM or i will post a poll but i need a genral idea.
 
Is this a prototype clutch? Same deal with the tuner, would be best to show dyno results as well as a report card after 6 months with the clutch. Just a thought.
 
The only thing I don't like about the Centerforce is the noise it makes while driving. But I suppose that's to be expected with a heavier clutch. I like the electric blue of the SPEC clutch but 1000 ft/lbs of torque is a bit much for me.

anthony 1000ft lbs capable with less peddle effort than stock.....:rock:


and the sct tuner is a device that flashes the stock pcm with a tune via the diag port. this way you do not have to buy a seperate pcm or worry about dealer warranty rejects. expect gains from 25-30hp and complete tuning capabilities of turbo, supercharger, n2o or whatever else you have in mind..... basically leaps and bounds over AEM, VEC, etc......
 
Not to bust your thread bro, but I wouldnt trust a Spec clutch in my john deere, poor quality and workmanship, plus I really dont think it would hold up to 1000 ft lbs and a launch of a 5000lb truck,

I would invest in a clutch that is well known in racing areas like the mccleod, but my two cents, maybe I am wrong , hope it works out for ya

Just got my centerforce,Will install as soon I get my Cryo,d flywheel.:)

My "mother-in-law" research has me in Evansville this evening...my CenterForce will be replaced with a new, CenterForce.

I considered the McCloud dual disk, but with my measly 620 rwhp and 639 tq...the Centerforce should be fine...

We will look closely at the old CenterForce and Fidanza flywheel and see if we can identify the problem...was a pisser to drive all the way to the MOPAR Nationals and not be able to make even one pass...

Will report what Boomer and Marty find tomorrow morning.

Can't imagine someone going with a Spec after the bad reports we have heard. To each his own, and I hope it works for you.

What kind of noise have you heard? Mine didn't make any noise.
 
damn, well so much for trying out new stuff. YOu guys think you know it all...... my experience with spec blah blah blah...I wouldn't put it in my John deere... what a bunch of uneducated Hillbilly's.

I mean really let really talk about this junk ass centerforce. It has noisy weights to "help" it grab better but in reality i helps it stick to the floor(centrifigul force is muther fawker look it up) mosty of you are not making any kind of power to even annoy the SPEC. Now i have had one bad clutch from each supplier listed and you know who stepped up to the plate..... SPEC and they got it figured out.


ahh whats the use you guys get one thing in your mind and you think you know it all. They should have never let old people get computers.....

your right not until we finish the piping for the twin 88's my biggest problem is finding enough fuel pressure.... need more pump(s)...

Well, like SVTFreak said, the CF has noisey weights. If my stereo isn't on I hear constant chattering going on below the shifter. The clutch set up was installed by a Viper tech down at Dodge. I was told by a fellow forum member before I got mine installed that it would make noise. I didn't mind because I wanted that weak azz OEM clutch out. I shouldn't complain about the OEM clutch too much tho since it DID last me about 32k miles. But then again I baby that damn truck. One of these days I'll grow nuts big enough to drive like SVTFreak. That way I wouldn't need a supercharger or anything to make her go faster. May take me a while but I'll try.:D

So, you don't want to hear our real life experience with a product? Mine is based on a clutch they put in my daughters Mustang. It was a piece of shit. Because the fingers were out of tolerance the pedal pulsated when you pushed it.

The shop that did the work had 2 or 3 (I forget for sure) others sitting on the shelf and they were all the same. The one in the car was out by over .050, and one on the shelf was over .100.

Brad called Spec and got a f*cking run around from them. He has since refused to carry there products.

So, if you don't like hearing what we have to say from real life troubles we have had, you can just go F*ck yourself for all I care.
