Track condidtions SUCKED!!!! Very foggy, crosswind, and about 72 degrees; but none of that matters because I still turn a new personal best!!! First I ran my mom's bike (honda rune 6cyl), it went 12.6xx on the second pass and she was happy, so I switch to the truck. A guy from work who has a z06 came out and want me to show him how to race(first time to the track). First pass we made he killed me, I cut a .001 r/t and ran a 13.043 and lost to his .782 with a 11.7. Then it got interresting, I took the next two passes, he made all the excuses in the world (missed gears, clutch slipping blah blah blah). I ran a 13.008 and a 13.105. He kept raceing and I parked mine(hey I am up by a race now). He wanted to race more agaist me after he got some practice, so we went again. He got the one by about a lenght(his 12.5 to my 12.947), after he missed a gear. Now we go up to break the tie, beat him on the whole shot... my .040 r/t with a [email protected], to his faster but losing 12.496. At this point I have the lead again and know I have his ass come monday morning in the break room so i am done!!!!!!

The 12.7 time slip:
.040
1.903
5.404

You did this on a new clutch?

So much for breaking it in.

Glad to see you doing this at the track.
It has 1,400 miles on it.

'07 The guy can't drive, he missed 3rd gear 7 or 8 times. His best time other than the 11.7 was 12.3... He tried to use every excuse in the book...

You ran a 12.7 and your only mods are the new clutch, forged tranny(please explain) and a x metal TB!!! No exhaust mods, no flash? Thats amazing. Great runs.

Yep, stock motor air filter pulled, x-metal tb(No gains right?), act clutch, dc flywheel, spare ditched, 1/8th tank of gas... Nothing special, I think I get pull a 12.6ish on a better night. The tranny was f-ed by the dealer trying to re-build it, so I sent it to six speed inc (in houston) and had them look at it, they asked me to do a full build because of the amount of crap that was wrong, i agreed.

Here is the basics, they added a few goodies...
Includes:
- T-56 Core Transmission
- New 1-2 Slider
- New 3-4 Slider
- New 5-6 Slider
- New Reverse Slider
- New 1-6 Forged Gears
- Carbon Fiber Synchros
- 3-4 Billet Keys
- New Bronze Fork Pads for 1-4 Gear Forks
- Steel 3-4 Fork
- Mikronite Finishing on 1-4 Gear
- Mikronite Finishing on 1-2 Slider
- Mikronite Finishing on 3-4 Slider
- New Main Shaft
- New Bearings
- Labor Included.

Mikronite extends the life of the transmission by more than double!

Big Red, great run in poor conditions. After the track re-opens maybe we'll cross paths on a good air night. Sounds like you've got launching and shifting down pretty well.

congrats BIGRED.....you never fail to amaze me with the way you push your truck to the limits for being stock (for the most part)....take care and be careful out there....
