hey guys, when i got my transmission rebuilt I got a new oem clutch put in and resurfaced the flywheel. On release i'm getting a shutter/chatter if I don't ride the clutch a bit. It's been over the 500 mile break in period. It's gone away slightly but is still noticeable. What's going on!? Also, on the tranny first gear was replaced as well as 5th gear. My first to second shift feels a bit stiff - especially when cold. The shop said it will be a bit stiff untill I drive it for a bit. Does that sound right? And on these tranny's how easy is shifting with no clutch? Thanks alot!

Mine chattered and smelled bad for the first 800miles or so but it did smooth out. I had 1st and 2nd gears and syncros replaced on mine and a new bearing kit put it. Has 4000km on it since rebuild and feels good.

I machined my flywheel and installed a centerforce and slave upgrade at the same time.

This is the reason we suggested not to resurface the flywheel

Trust me - the way everything went with this repair wasn't the way I wanted it. But regardless, is this something i'm stuck with or will it go away as it wears in?

If your past the break in try being a little harder on it. I launched mine a few time not too hard but enough it took a bit over a month or too for the chatter and smell to stop ( i don't drive mine much) Now the only smell I get is the tires :burnout:
