The corner of MOPAR LANE & DODGE AVENUE!
The wife, my 17 year old son and I went to the Santa Claus Shootout at Hub City Dragway in Hattiesburg,Ms. yesterday. It is a street car type event with 3 classes, stock tires, drag radials and pro class. I took the Coronet to do some shakedown runs after installing Cal Trac monoleaf springs, bars and their adjustable rear shocks.Went to a 4.10 gear instead of the 3.91, I also installed a 3 Step launch control with the launch rpm limiter wired to the brake light switch, and the burnout rpm limiter wired to the line lock. I set the launch rpm at 3400 on the first pass and it had a 1.51 60ft. Second pass I set it on 3200 rpm and had a 1.50 60ft. On my 3rd and final pass I set it on 2800 rpm so it would flash the convertor more and it had a 1.46 60ft, a 6.68 1/8th and a new best 1/4 mile time of 10.54@ 126 mph. That is with full 3 inch exhaust and MT 275 drag radials and NO POWER ADDERS!! Oh and I built the engine under 2 old pine trees in my ole redneck diesel shop!

Not bad for a redneck build. ;) :D

Great times for a full size car running through the exhaust. How much more do you think it has in it?:confused:

Well I installed a F.A.S.T. air fuel monitor and it has a data recorder incorporated into it. On the replay it was from 9.5 to 10.0. That is rich for sure so I figure if I jet it down some maybe 10.40's at 127 at best. I was really concentrating on tuning the Cal Tracs so as not to swap lanes:D Next step will be Nitrous with progressive controller and 1.6 rocker arms to put the cam lift at .704. Trying to get in the Pump Gas Drags in May!

Great Time!!:rock:

Wish I could pull 60's like that in my Viper...:dontknow:

SWEET!! shadtree glory!!:rock:

Congrats man........

WOW that is great...................:D

Jet the thing and there is more than a 10.40 in there; I'm thinking 3-4 10ths and 4-5 MPH.

When they "get there" and really change pitch it is like having a power adder.

What do you call yourselves Pine-O-Net racing.................;)

I could go lots of places with this;

Twin Pines Racing.

Ah well, anything more on my part would just be "NEEDLING" he he he

I can always take a lot of "needling" . When it ran the 10.91@122, I came home and jetted it up to 90's all the way around. It came with 86's so I will probably put 88's in it and try again. That would be GREAT if it would run 10.30's and 130 mph.
